I was in my 40's with 4 kids under 13 when I was treated for stage 3 breast cancer. I lost my hair, gained weight, was mostly exhausted and when I felt better between chemo infusions my priority was spending time with my kids and DH. The last thing I'd want to do is go out in public and pose for pictures and whatever else Kate does.

Give her some grace, and hope she has a full recovery.

So you guys didn't learn anything from the last time? People are going to pick this news apart and speculate and come up with wild theories until Kate is forced to put on a wig and makeup and hide her bag or whatever else she's dealing with, and spend half a day trying to make a statement satisfactory enough that you'll lay off for a month? She's dealing with health issues. She's with her mom. And yes, any of us dealing with serious health issues would go back home to our parents if we had the financial means and freedom and good enough relationship with them.

The thing is Kate didn’t have to make any statement or apology. William could’ve done so and cleared the air and said his wife is going through chemo and did the video announcement to protect his wife . Throwing her to the lions den was interesting because KP certainly made sure to fight back and defend the Rose rumors with more vigor. Kate was kinda thrown under the bus by His Majesty something the Middleton uncle even admitted .

Why does he cower and hide ? He also did nothing for years when the press which he has influence on called her Waity Katy . His pattern is throwing others under the bus (Katy, Meghan, Harry) . Something Harry called him out on and fought him about. He knows what the press says but KP only comes out of vacation time to deny stories when it’s about him or Rose of Danbury

They have their own money. They live off the taxpayers dime because they wanted to stay a Royal Family and having a modernized, defined give and take relationship with the government and people is part of the deal everyone signed onto in order to keep this historical, traditional element of British culture going.

Regardless of the specifics, an individual is seriously ill. For those who insist on viewing a Princess's role as just a job, consider that she is currently out on medical leave/long-term disability until medically cleared and leave her alone. She's obviously too sick to perform her main job which is to travel/walk around a lot, look good in clothes, and make people feel happy by her being there. All tasks that are much, much harder for someone undergoing chemo and cancer recovery.
