Yes, but the point was, tryouts were a charade because this was all pre arranged with promised positions in PSA long before the general tryouts happened. |
There is truth here which begs the question of how they evaluate for ECNL. Last seasons ID sessions were numerous and spanned for a long time and there is no doubt talent showed up with their new found ECNL badge. I don't think the age group director really knows what to look for. The ECNL teams were terrible and I understand these take time to to come to frutiion, but some teams were clearly not at ecnl level |
Who would have known back room deals and agreements were pre-arranged with slots promised could happen at a non profit who's about youth sports? |
| When you don't know how to evaluate talent just take in another club. |

"From what Iโve heard 2014-2016 ROSA teams are not disturbing the structure of the existing Potomac teams in that age group. Older ages are more competitive everywhere and kids get cut at every club. Itโs an unfortunate reality
This is correct. At least for the 2014s. Two fulll Rosa teams were added, but the 4 current Potomac teams remain unchanged. These 2 Rosa teams will continue practicing in the same field they did with Rosa previously and with the same coach. The only change will be the jersey. Its almost like a sub-camp that has very contact with the Potomac universe. |
| Meant to say: very little contact with the Potomac universe. |
You donโt know Potomac Soccer very well do you? |
| Did ROSA have teams past 2010 (ie 2008, 2009)? |
For non-profit organizations? I know non-competes are illegal for for-profit companies, just not sure how it works in the non-profit world. |
| Looks like a few rosa players moved across to mainly the EDP rosters at Potomac, not seeing any in the ECNL teams where my sons play. It makes sense to keep those younger players together before the madness of the competitive older ages. Good luck everyone wherever you play next season! |
| Why do we have two threads on this? |
Because they are that bad? |
| well. Agree |
|
This is too funny!
So the coach who sabotaged ROSA by taking multiple boys teams to Potomac was released by Potomac before the season started. The parents/kids of course stayed ๐ Potomac said, this is chess, not checkers mate ๐ |
No surprises there. |
