Private & Independent Schools
No that's not me. While I do think it is unfair that legal, due paying immigrants have to wait in line and pay egregious fees just to stay here while illegals can just waltz right in from South of the border and have anchor babies, i think our immigration system is flawed, period. We NEED to encourage smart educated people to come here. |
|
Oh God. You want to let the educated, Asian and South Asian immigrants in, while keeping those uneducated (and largely Catholic, go figure) Latino immigrants out.
Why am I not surprised. |
NOOOO! I want the educated Asian, African, European, South American whatever to come over here. THey are high wage earners, will fund our entitlement programs, and are a win win for our society. THey get a better life, we get a better life. |
| I am sure that those highly educated Asians and Africans will be doing your gardening and washing your car and cleaning your home and all those other jobs that only the undocumented seem to do. Oh and they pay taxes and there are next to no entitlement programs they take from because there are next to no entitlement programs they are eligible. They pay into the system, and take very little. And if we sent them all home tomorrow our economy would crash -- take that number of workers out of the economy and wage earners, and it would all come crashing down. Which is why we don't. |

Ah the anchor babies, otherwise known as US citizens. For someone who claimed to care about the education of the poor, you are awfully insulting toward both the poor and to children. Again, the word bigotry comes to mind.
The Farmworkers have recently started a program called "Take Our Jobs." I saw the head of the organization talking about it on TV. They are encouraging any US citizen to take the job of an undocumented farmworker. Come on in, they say. Last I checked, they had not gotten a single offer from an American citizen who actually wanted to do the backbreaking work. So, lets send all those "uneducated" undocumented workers back and we won't have food on our tables. That would be a great move. You have done a nice pivot from one form of prejudice ("those evil Catholic schools that I didn't know were educating poor children") to another ("anchor babies!"). Are you this appealing in person? |

Ughhh. I'm done with OP, as Barbara Bush would say.
So why is she so concerned about catholic charity when she obviously has no feelings of charity for immigrant laborers? |
|
A lot of ignorant private school parents here. You obviously know next to nothing about church history, but think that the name Catholic means something like the Salvation Army and soup kitchens.
Cathlic church has a long history of running schools all the way to the middle ages. Here the schools are run just as any other normal schools. In third world countries, some of the catholics are the only privates, and historically the only ones who took education to the masses. I know that several presidents in Africa got their education from mission schools. |
|
I think "catholic" means something like "universal". So the Nicene creed refers to the "holy catholic and apostolic church", and when episcopalians say this they obviously aren't referring to Rome.
But I take your point. I think most of us agree with you. There's just one bigot here, and that's OP. |
| OP again. I went back and read this thread and realized that most people attacked me personally and didn't defend this hypocritical organization. What about all the segregated churches in the South? The god awful women's rights record, abuse etc. etc. |
OP, you are a sick person. Not only are you a bigot, you are also seeking further abuse. And you're obviously one of these sick people who "needs" someone or something to hate. Get to a therapist fast. And don't try to spin the thread as being "just" about personal attacks on you. People consistently attacked your incorrect statements. The fact that you're a bigot (which you are) simply follows from the fact that you continue to hold on to your warped views in the face of overwhelming evidence presented by other posters here. |
| Congrats OP, people think you're scum. Trying to change topics by talking about the church in the south (in the private school forum? WTF?) and claiming people are just ganging up on poor little you (when we can all read the thread for ourselves and see this isn't true) just confirm the fact that you're ... scum. |
| The weirdest thing about catholic shcool is that they think they are better than they really are, some sort of overinflated sense of importance because they are "closer to god". |
|
Whoa, the segregated churches in the south were overwhelmingly protestant. What amazes me is that throughout this thread you've mouthed off some incredibly ignorant things. Like Catholic schools have the poorest record of serving poor children, when in fact the exact opposite. And now these racist catholics running around the south. While there are and have been catholics and catholic churches in the south, the church is mostly in the communities of the northeast and west. Do you know anything about what you are talking about?
I called you a bigot before and i will again. |
And yet, as you've stated before on this thread, you have no problem with Sidwell or the Cathedral schools, which cater to a much richer bunch of families. You're a hypocrite. And, of course, a bigot. (19:30, I'm right there with you. Does anybody else think that the bigot is either 12 years old, or drunk? The 4-5 spelling mistakes and punctuation errors - the period should go within the quotes - really make me wonder.) |
Actually, what would fund are entitlement programs are a lot more illegal immigrants who pay into Social Security (by fake SSNs) but can't ever draw benefits because of their illegal work status and the fact that they were paying into Social Security under some dead person's name, not their own. The Social Security trustees actually include this as a net positive in their forecasts. But don't let me confuse you with facts, go on being prejudiced.... |
