| DP. You can feel free to report, but that “sock puppet” wasn’t me. Again, your quest to find that anyone who disagrees with you in good faith, must be trolling? Is the attitude that may hand Hogan the election. Again, I don’t WANT the senate to flip republican, and Hogan to win. But I’m so frustrated with other democrats (oh no, lowercase!) who stick their heads in the sand and assume every single person not 100% in lockstep with is some gop covert operative. |
I definitely understand this point of view. I feel somewhat similar. To me, though, it's mostly the rhetoric from some Democrats that I find off-putting. If you ignore what they say, and just pay attention to the policies and laws enacted, there's really no question in my mind that I'm far more aligned with the Democratic party than the Republicans. Hogan might come close, but a lot of that is skewed because he was limited by what he could do with a Democratic legislature. |
You can tell my mommy, too, but it won’t change the the fact that I posted that and I’m an actual person and that was my first post in the thread. |
I am sincerely laughing at the idea that Kristin Mink and Marc Elrich are far left. I guess I missed where they called for nationalizing the means of production? And Jamie Raskin is as mainstream a Democrat as they come. |
DP. No, the election will not be won or lost based on what one anonymous poster said to another anonymous poster on DCUM. |
Good gracious. Youngkin is an extreme right wing MAGA fruitcake, and Hogan is a far right guy - the only reason you all didn't see it is the dems in the legislature kept him in check |
Have you ever read anything at all about Kristin Mink? She makes AOC (who I like, even if I don’t always agree with her) seem like Reagan. Plus, AOC is smart. |
| I am an independent and have no plan to vote right as long as you worship orange god. |
Not only have I read about her, I have talked with her and worked with her. The obsessive hatred of Kristin Mink among the on-line right-wing trolls in Montgomery County says a lot about the on-line right-wing trolls in Montgomery County, but nothing about Kristin Mink. |
And that's the problem right there. Every sane person has issues with the progressive left, but it's impossible to vote for Republicans as long as Trump is their leader. Trump is the Republican party. And until that changes, I can't vote for any of them. Even Hogan in the Senate is just another vehicle for the advancement of Trump. I would rather vote for Che Guevara than a Republican in the age of the Trump cult. |
| I am not a troll and I’m different from the other people posting - no sock puppet. I am a moderate democrat who has zero time for the maga idiots but really, really hate being condescended to by the far left. And I like Hogan! (Fwiw, I also defended Daley when I lived in Chicago- he represented me well and my republican relatives there hated me for it). I vote local and I think Hogan did a good job for me - as a Marylander. I like Raskin too. But not Elrich. Voters like me- prob schizophrenic seeming- exist and we hate being told we suck by people like you. |
DP. Oh, please. You don't have to be a "right-wing troll" to see how extreme she is.

And therein lies the difference between voting for governor and voting for senator. You could easily vote for Hogan as governor because he wasn't going to be able to do anything right-wing. He was effectively just a regulator on what the D legislature could do. However, as senator, his vote is a vote for Trump if he becomes president again, which is very possible. |
Sorry your feelings got hurt! The truth hurts. You aren’t a Democrat if you vote for Hogan. The Senate has the ability to pass gun control laws which Hogan will not. Hogan opposed an assault weapons ban passed in the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, and once elected, Hogan vetoed expanded background checks and stricter requirements on gun sellers and refused to sign legislation banning ghost guns. So a vote for him may get you a nice tax cut, but kids still won’t be safe in their schools. Hope the trade is worth for you.

| I'm voting for Trump and Hogan and as much as I'd like to believe OP's prediction, I just don't see it. This is Maryland, after all. |
