Yeah.... that horrible individual who sought to destroy the US ...... that repulsive..... Abraham Lincoln. Thanks for saving us from such injustice. And, I am assuming that you believe George Floyd to be one of those more enlightened folks?

Or you could just move and leave the US if you hate it and its history so much. Keep crying about history from 300 years ago. Wait until you learn how the Arabs built their wealth from the Arab slave trade, or the Native Americans also had African slaves. Time to cancel Sitting Bull? https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smithsonian-institution/how-native-american-slaveholders-complicate-trail-tears-narrative-180968339/ |
It’s not virtue signaling babe. It’s not honoring the wrong people- like traitors to the country. But don’t fret. They aren’t arrayed. You can still learn about them via books, documentaries, historical societies. But I’m sure you already know that since you’re SO concerned. |
Floyd statue is to remind what happened to him. Not honor him. You can plainly see that from the inscription. |
I have never heard Penn described as a traitor before. Interesting. |
Lincoln cynically allowed some Union states to keep their slaves and only changed his tune over politics not morality. The George Floyd statues serve as reminders to the oppressors - never again will they have such power over the underprivileged. |
I couldn't afford Penn. I could afford a state school since I am poor, white, redneck trash. I don't want to be confused the Ivy elites who disdain my type. |
| Biden is letting the woke inmates run the asylum. Way to try to lose the Philadelphia metro area, Joe. |
Did they live virtuous lives? I doubt the men did by 20th century standards. |
Interestingly there is no mention of removing Penny’s statues because of a problem with Penn. seem like you have made this up. |
Exactly. IYKYK. It’s not removing history or whatever the RWNJs are crying about. |
So cute! YOU assuming the role of victim! |
That wasn't directed to him, but to the other statues discussed here and over the last few years. I know next to nothing about Penn. Most people probably in the same boat. There will be a few outraged people, a small percentage on the merits but most just b/c they dislike Biden or the removal of statues generally. I couldn't care less about this statue. Like other posts have pointed out, if you care that much, there is likely a book, class, documentary, or website where you can learn about him until your heart's content. But we all know that is not going to happen. |
No one is confusing Penn State for Penn. They confuse Penn with Penn State. That is the reality. Again, why don't you celebrate the fact that Americans are much more interested in your school (yay football) than Penn? Seems like that should be something you are proud of. BTW, I couldn't afford Penn either, but they gave me mostly a free ride because of that. I had a work-study job all four years, took out a few low-interest federal loans, received a Pell Grant and grant money from Penn, and that was it. My low-income parents, who lived paycheck to paycheck, paid exactly $0 for my college years. Strange you didn't get offered that, given that they are need blind. That is one of the secrets of wealthy elite schools - if you are poor and can get in, you don't have to pay, or not very much. |
Wow, so much projection in your post. You really need to get outside more and pay better attention to your surroundings, including the statues and artwork in our midst. Good luck! |
