Um. No. That is some stupid “both sides” nonsense.

It’s actually a very apt analogy. You just don’t want to admit it.

The content below was emailed tonight. Looks like this chief equity job was created due to a valid sex and/or gender discrimination fed complaint. Why no mention of race based discrimination?

=================
Title IX Notice
Fairfax County Public Schools is committed to a learning and working environment free from all forms of discrimination and does not tolerate acts of sex-based or gender-based misconduct:
Any student who believes that they have been subjected to sex-based or gender-based misconduct, any parent of such a student, or any student who believes that another student is being subjected to sex-based or gender-based misconduct is encouraged to report the misconduct to FCPS, specifically to their school principal.
Any administrator who believes that a student is being subjected to sex-based or gender-based misconduct is required to report such suspected misconduct to the school principal.
FCPS conducts prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into any such reports. Interim measures will be available to students who have alleged sex-based or gender-based misconduct and students who are accused of sex-based or gender-based misconduct – including but not limited to: separation pending the outcome of an investigation, counseling, and educational resources.
When an investigation reveals that sexual misconduct created a sexually hostile environment, FCPS will take prompt and effective steps to end the misconduct, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its effect – including continuing the interim measures as necessary to protect the reporting student and ensure his or her safety. Students found to engage in acts of sex-based misconduct or other acts that create a hostile environment will be dealt with promptly, and discipline may include, but is not limited to, suspension or expulsion. FCPS encourages students, parents, and staff to work together to prevent sex-based or gender-based misconduct of any kind.

What race qualifies for the position? Never see a latino or native american or asian minority in equity position. Why?

Run searches on LinkedIn and you will find the all kinds of people in equity positions. Next Question?

There is going to be increasing public skepticism about the use of public funds for these sorts of positions in the coming years, and I would say it's a risky endeavor to pursue such a job, as you may be on the chopping block before you know it.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/chief-diversity-officer-cdo-business-corporations-e110a82f

There was recently a report on "DEI bloat" in universities, and Virginia apparently was at the top of the list. GMU was ranked #1 for DEI bloat. https://www.heritage.org/education/commentary/gmus-president-gets-it-wrong-dei-has-overtaken-his-school

And the idea that there is no racial/ethnic diversity in these positions is incorrect.

This is not the first chief DEI officer FCPS has had. Lisa Williams came before and I believe was the one who spent thousands to contract with “The Leadership Academy” to create “equity-focused, anti-racist” curriculum.

How about we simply teach students to treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness and get back to, you know, ACTUAL ACADEMICS?!

Before FCPS hired/rehired them, both Lisa William and Nardos King worked for Baltimore County Public Schools, the worst school district of Maryland.

What happened to Lisa williams? She wasn’t there long at all.

"Williams first arrived in Fairfax County as chief equity officer in December 2020 after a long career at Baltimore County Public Schools, where students have struggled academically for years. She stayed on the job only until January 2022, signing controversial multi-million dollar contracts with outside consultants, including Leadership Academy, which designed an “Anti-Racism, Anti-Bias Curriculum Policy Survey” that the school district sent parents in spring 2021. Her departure was quietly announced and left parents with many questions about why she left so suddenly."

"On August 5, a Fairfax County Public Schools official quietly signed a contract with the school district’s recently-departed chief equity officer, Lisa Williams, to pay her at least $56,000 – or the equivalent of a new teacher’s annual salary – for “strategic coaching” and “guidance” of school board members on “issues related to organizational transformation” that “enhances engagement, coaching and leadership.”

"Under the new contract with Williams, Fairfax County Public Schools will pay her in three ways: first, she will get $4,000 per month for 11 months between August 2022 and June 2023; secondly, she will be paid $12,000 for three “retreat-like gatherings,” at a rate of $4,000 per session, between August 2022 and December 2023; finally, she will receive $250 per hour for other work she does between August 2022 and December 2023 “as requested by the Superintendent,” Michelle Reid. So little stewardship of taxpayer money, in a system with declining academics and overcrowded buildings. The grift is real.

All guest speakers of renown are expensive.

.

That guest speaker "of renown" is in hot water at the moment.

So Nardos couldn’t do the job she was filling in for but collected the salary while FCPS paid someone else money to do her job?

Get the contracts form other former exec please. I suspect William isn’t the only one to get a sweet deal like this.
