Charlotte Sena - Missing NY 9YO

This doesn’t look like a stranger abduction to me. The short window of time coupled with the apparently well-populated area she was in makes me think she wasn’t snatched off the trail by a stranger.

I hope she’s found safe, though it doesn’t seem likely. Just heartbreaking.

Could it be that the parents were busy with two other kids and family, and they didn’t keep accurate time? I agree if it is only a “few minutes” to complete the loop, that it would be an unlikely for a stranger to happen upon the girl right at the right time and place without being seen by anyone at the other campsites right nearby.

Whether the parents were busy or misjudged the time, the fact is Loop A is a few-minute bike ride. And densely packed with camp sites.

I thought of him too. Has been taking pictures of girls in Saratoga park for years, plus ice cream truck creepiness.

Where are people getting that Loop A is densely packed with campsites the whole way? Yes obviously it's in the heart of the campground but from what people on Twitter who are from that area are posting - it seems like for a part of the loop you are biking past camp sites. As the person above says - in that area you'd have a bunch of 60+ year olds sitting by the fires at 615 grilling up dinner, saying hi to whoever goes past.

But then it looks like there's a section where you are past those camp sites and it's just trees on both sides (or maybe on one side it's trees and other side it's main areas like camp offices, camp bathrooms etc). Those trees are where you see the thin woods with a road running right behind. So you ride through these trees for a while and then as you take the loop you come back around and again hit the campsites where people would be.

It's totally possible that when you're in the section with just trees - no one happens to be coming and going in the same direction as you - so it's just you, and someone pops out of the woods there.

According to the graphic in the daily mail article, there really isn’t anywhere where it’s just trees

Also, I would hope maybe they can get fingerprints off the bike. Who knows how careful a perpetrator would have been.

Sorry I don't follow crime stuff usually - can someone tells me what happens once they get someone's finger prints or DNA or something? I know that's a huge thing to tie a crime to a person, but how does that happen? As far as I know there's no national registry of fingerprints so how do they match that fingerprint to an actual person? I mean I guess they can run it against the fingerprints of people who've been arrested ever before and are out of prison now. But aside from that - assuming it's someone with no record + no security clearance (bc I assume there's another database on fingerprints), how do you find the person based on finger print alone?

Any person working in a public school needs to be fingerprinted. Heck, parent volunteers in PGC have to be fingerprinted and undergo a background check.

Yes but it sounds like she was bike riding with cousins or something. Maybe they thought she was with them the whole time but actually not? And then the kids said “Oh she’s doing an extra loop,” because they didn’t want to get in trouble for accidentally leaving her. I don’t know. This kind of mistake seems more likely than an abductor happening upon her in a span of the 5 minutes nobody had eyes on her. Maybe they are wrong about timeline and there is a bigger gap of time.

I was brow beaten when my boys were younger for my rule of if I can't see you you shouldn't be there.
I would NEVER EVER blame a parent for not paying attention. There are things going on in this world that we just can't control. I am not talking true neglectful parenting like that woman that let her child drown. I am saying kids need to be somewhat free but the world is so scary right now. I don't trust anyone. It's a sad state to be in.
I pray someone finds her soon.

Along this line, I just heard a parent on a walking loop (at our flag football field) say a very reasonable thing.
“I’m walking on a trail around, she’s biking around. For every 1 time I go around, she does 6 loops.”
I think he was explaining to a family member on the phone. I happened to hear it bc I have kids the same age, and I agree I would be somewhat fine with that kind of walk/ride.

It seemed like a reasonable thing to let the girl do one last loop. I might have tried to send her with a friend or sibling, but I’ll never know. No one would judge these parents and friends.
