Where can I live where no one has tattoos?

I don't judge people who have tattoos. At the same time, I do not think that they look good. So that's my question - why would people do something permanent that does not look good?

Maybe people have different tastes, sometimes?

Not pp but come on a lot of these people walking around with face tatts for instance look like they need a psych evaluation

I only know boomers with this attitude towards tattoos: my DH's friend's wife, age 70, said this to me when I got mine: "Aren't you afraid someone will think you got it in prison?!?" If she'd been wearing pearls, she would have clutched them.

+1. My mom seriously thinks everyone with tattoos lives in a trailer. No freaking clue.

To be fair, most with several tattoos do or have similar lifestyle.

Shut up, Karen. Are you really this stupid? And have you never seen how much a tattoo costs?

I don't have any tattoos myself, but I think many things about you all who sit in judgment like this.

If you think the world isn’t brimming with people silently judging you you have a lot of growing up to do.

No, you need to do the growing up. Most people don't have time to give a shit about what anyone else is doing. Maybe the country club Karen's have time to, but no one else does.

If this thread was about face tattoos then you would have a point. But it’s not.

In addition, the more upper class the neighborhood the more likely it is that residents will know the proper usage of "less" and "fewer than."

So you are sitting in judgement as well? Almost as if it’s human nature, huh?

This is just the laziest argument ever.

Person 1: [spouts some intolerant, judgmental attitude]
Person 2: Wow, that's judgmental.
Person 1: You're judging me too! Hypocrite!

If that's the best you can come up with, you should just concede the point.

PP here. I am actually not arguing “hypocrite!” I am trying to point out that it is absolutely human nature to judge other people. It’s actually a survival mechanism. So as a DP pointed out, pretending or even sincerely believing that one never judges others or that one should never be and will never be judged for seemingly superficial matters is immature at best. (i.e. grow up!)

That being said, if you cover yourself in tattoos other people will absolutely judge you, as is their right. And guess what? Even thinking, wow that looks so cool or that person must be interesting! is in fact judgement! But of course people want to keep the positive and act like the negative shouldn’t be allowed to exist. It’s childish.

Not being snarky here, but why would a person with a tattoo care that a complete stranger is judging them for it? People keep saying “I am secretly judging you”, so what? Judge me all you like. I truly do not care.

The more affluent the area, the fewer tattoos you will see. You'll never completely escape them but that's a decent rule of thumb.

For different reasons the northeast and the upper middle class south probably has the fewest. Northeast because colder weather hides most tattoos, the southeast because the southeastern UMC still sees tattoos as very trashy.

Tattoos are becoming major class indicators. Not just the absence of tattoos, but if you have tattoos, how they are done. But unlike clothes, you can't ever get rid of tattoos especially the bigger and more garish ones.

I'm a bit amused by the whole tattoo phenomena. I do wonder at people who get tattoos on their back legs or other areas where they can't even see it! And I also wonder at the peculiarity of various tattoos. Just the other day I spotted a young woman with a coffee cup tattooed on her back calf. A coffee cup!

To the contrary, I judge anyone (negativity) who would judge someone for having a tattoo. At least unless the tattoo is unusually bad.

That’s fantastic, really! I don’t care if you care or don’t care, but the people who do seem to care are the ones who seem to think it’s so unfair and wrong for others to judge them. You acknowledge and accept that others may judge you and you just don’t care - that’s the mature attitude to have, IMO.

You are already living in it OP. Visible tattoos are less acceptable here than many other areas, especially near housing that is 800k and up.
