Where can I live where no one has tattoos?

It's against the religion.

It is? Grew up catholic and never heard thus, only hear about Jewish restrictions.

I think….what did this person aspire to be when they made this choice. Are you a drug addict? If I’m interviewing you for a job I’d take a hard pass. Too risky. You read as problematic. It screams low class.
I say nothing but this is what I’m thinking.

And I think you are a snob and probably live an incredibly boring life.
~someone who does not have a tattoo but certainly does not judge

You just did.

Yes, you are correct. I guess I should say I do not judge on people’s outwardly appearance.

Kensington, MD. (The good part.)

Hahahah this thread is hilarious.

My sister and I both have tattoos. Small and easily hid but we both have 3 of them that mean various things to us.

My sisters HHI is around $1 million and my HHI is around $650,000.

You really think only people that live in trailers have tattoos?

More people than you realize have tattoos, you just don’t see them. When I was in undergrad, about 25 years ago, there seemed to be an upsurge in my peers getting tattooed. In the school of business they advised us not to get tattoos in visible places cause that could hamper employment prospects.

I only know boomers with this attitude towards tattoos: my DH's friend's wife, age 70, said this to me when I got mine: "Aren't you afraid someone will think you got it in prison?!?" If she'd been wearing pearls, she would have clutched them.

+1. My mom seriously thinks everyone with tattoos lives in a trailer. No freaking clue.

To be fair, most with several tattoos do or have similar lifestyle.

I don't have tattoos, but honestly, it's only because I have high standards for meaningfulness and quality, and I haven't had any good enough ideas yet. Tattoos are rare in my line of work, but that wouldn't dissuade me. I'm professionally accomplished enough that I'd feel comfortable telling anyone who didn't like it to deal with it.

Numerous friends with tattoos, including full sleeves, full back designs, etc. Some are real works of art. I can't imagine being anything but impressed that someone had the creativity, planning, and patience to envision and then get such a thing. Do bad or unoriginal tattoos also exist? Sure, but you can judge them on their merits, the same as any other bad art.

Anyone who's in any kind of creative profession is going to know lots of people with tattoos, regardless of class, status, or geography. Hell, good tattoos probably even help these folks in their careers. Why are you afraid of creative expression?

Not high enough.

I don't like tattoos, nor have intention to ever get one or would want to live in a neighborhood full of overly tattooed bodies (not because it looks gross but because people making one questionable decision have tendency to make other questionable decisions) but know many intelligent and successful people with small tattoos.

It seems Judaism and Islam are against bodily mutation or at least that's how most of their scholars interpret it, where Christianity stands on this? Is it same for all types of Christians? What's the verdict on bodily piercings? Any difference in opinions between ear piercing and nipple piercing?

I'm Gen X, and I don't have any tattoos.

I don't judge people who have tattoos. At the same time, I do not think that they look good. So that's my question - why would people do something permanent that does not look good?

But you've said yourself that they're small and easily hidden. Not the same as a full sleeve, neck, face, etc.

Fewer people in the DC metro have visible tattoos than anywhere else I have lived in the US OP. You can't get away from tattoos entirely, as many blue collar workers here and elsewhere tend to have visible tattoos.

The only time I see tattoos is when we have work done to our house, and we don't even live in 500-600k neighborhood in MD.

This question is hilarious. OP might as well ask, "How do I hold back the ocean tide with a plastic shovel?"

Maybe people have different tastes, sometimes?
