Nope. CDC antibody study is out. More like seventy percent. And only 55 percent of over 60 year olds. |
Why are you continuing to ask people on DCUM when you have a diagnosis from a medical professional? |
Link? Antibodies are an imperfect tool. |
Op here. Because I’m in bed and feeling anxious! It’s now been 10 days since symptoms started and I’m back to square one. Doesn’t that seem odd? I’m thinking I’ve picked up a new bug (covid?). |
There's a lot of important stuff behind your sternum. Upper back/shoulders are a common site for referred pain from GI tract and also from heart. I'd go to the ER. |
To be clear, fever, chills and pain in this location could be pancreatitis, an infected gallbladder, and at least a few other things that require emergent management. Do not wait. |
I’ve heard that HFM in adults can be pretty brutal. |
Dude go to the urgent care |
Op here. My fever broke and I feel improved. I’m on vacation in a different city (San Diego) and it’s the 4th of July. I would have no idea where to go. It’s also most likely HFM or COVID….and there’s not much an urgent care can do for either |
| I told you several days ago to get a drive thru pcr. |
Op here, I did and it was negative. I went to urgent care, got tested for flu, covid, and strep. |
DP This may be the study the PP mentioned. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#nationwide-blood-donor-seroprevalence-2022 |
When DH had HFM, he was bedridden for 2+ weeks. It was brutal. I’d never seen him that sick. Sounds like you need to let this run its course. And stay off DCUM. It doesn’t help your recovery. |
Op Here. Good to know. The fever has come roaring back and I can’t sleep. This is so freaking awful. Just lying in bed thinking about how I’ll get through tomorrow on no sleep and exhausted from fevers. Why am I unable to sleep whenever I get super sick? That’s honestly the worst part. I need to sleep so badly and I can’t. And the sicker I am, the less I can sleep. It’s so unbelievably awful. I’m so angry and bitter and miserable right now. How much children’s Tylenol can I take? I’m maxed out on ibuprofen, and we only have the kids version. I took 15 ml, but can I take more? |
|
For all Tylenol, you can have up to 1000 mg 4x day. So take the kids' bottle, which IIRC has 160 mg per dose, and multiply.
If you still have the sternum pain though--go to the ER. |
