As mentioned earlier, no teacher is risking their job. Walk out and ignore is what 50% would do, the other half would say “back to class.” No one is taking pictures. |
Y’all don’t even get it. It isn’t about risking our jobs. There are ASSAULT charges we can face if we try to intervene in a physical altercation or interaction. Teacher probably assumed they were in the stall hooking up or doing drugs. Which to be fair- the female student HAD met with him consensually in the bathroom in the past so this wasn’t new or unusual behavior. She left to get a staff member who has the ability to break up that kind of interaction or force the stall lock or whatever. It’s like some of you seriously can’t grasp how legally vulnerable we are when working with KIDS. We can’t just go Rambo and bust down a stall door and drag kids out because we see two legs in the stall. She didn’t know an assault was imminent. She did know kids end up in stalls for lots of reasons all the time. BTW, this is a huge reason my principal doesn’t even want staff in or using the student restrooms. It puts both sides at so much risk . |
For the millionth time NO ONE asked the teacher to physically separate the kids. Enough with your hyperbole. But what SHOULD have happened was the teacher to say GET OUT OF THERE NOW. And no one has confirmed that the teacher did in fact get school security or the admin. If that is in the report, post the page number. Otherwise your making up information to support this teacher having done NOTHING. |
No sure, you just go ahead and persist with your illogical need to pretend a teacher could tell a rape was happening and just left and did nothing because they didn’t care. Easier to make up a villain than have any critical thinking skills. |
The only one making things up is you. No one has said the teacher knew a rape was happening. But what she did know is 4 feet were in one stall. Which is inappropriate and she absolutely should have said something in the moment to the two people in the stall. You defense of this is truly horrible. Enjoy your sled to hell. |

“It happened after multiple people, including the assailant’s own mother and grandmother, warned law enforcement about the then 15-year-old boy.” |
I’m not sure these criminal charges will stick. And the public information officer charged with perjury? It seems very politically motivated by Youngkin/Miyares. Guess we’ll see. |
Agree. And will make the next guy's job that much harder (and finding him/her). |
Between attacks on teachers and now criminal charges against school administrators, who on earth would want to work in the VA public education system right now? It’s all part of Youngkin’s strategy to dismantle public schools and privatize education. |
PP here. I'm retired and part time. Still in schools. |
If Wayde lied to the grand jury, why shouldn’t he be indicted? |
Perjury is harder to prove at trial than it may seem. It also depends what the lie was. Does anyone have a link to the indictment? “Perjury occurs if the person knowingly swears falsely about a material matter or thing while under a lawfully administered oath.” The government has lost or abandoned perjury cases when they can’t prove sufficiently the false statement was knowing and a material fact. |
It’s up to the prosecution to make their case. But there’s no reason that Zigler and Bayrd shouldn’t have been indicted if the grand jury believed their was evidence to do so. LCPS covered up the original crime which led to a second one. Those involved should absolutely be held criminally responsible. |
