This sums it up best. This and the Alhambra bracelet are the Coach purse for the middle class.

Op as others have said if you want to spend this amount on a bracelet, you can find much better workmanship and quality.

Also jewelry, like cars, are not investments. The people at the jewelry counter who tell you that are lying to you. Diamonds do not appreciate. Jewelry does not appreciate.

This is why I can’t quit you, DCUM! Calling the Love bracelet basic? Cool, matter of opinion. But saying that it’s a middle class product is so off base. These are the entry level prices for the items mentioned in this thread.

Coach bag - $200-500
Neverfull - $2000
Alhambra - $3900
Love - $6900
Classic Flap - $8800

To a PP’s point, this isn’t an item accessible to most people. And to be clear, I’m not saying expensive = quality or better taste (and you’re definitely paying a brand premium), just pointing out a huge fallacy I see around here a lot. I suspect the perceived ubiquity of the Love bracelet is driven not by it’s price point, but by social media. You see them all the time in Instagram, which makes them oversaturated for sure. I hardly doubt you’re seeing it on your average mom driving a Toyota Highlander in the suburbs.

It’s basic for the UMC, not the middle class. There are many UMC basic women with 3 or so Love bracelets. These are not fashionable or original women. These are crowd-followers.

There is nothing wrong with that though. And yes UMC women are wearing this, but so are actual rich women. I watch the Today Show and Jenna Bush Hager wears them as well as Savannah Guthrie and many of the other Hosts. Almost all of the Housewives on Bravo wear them. And none of these people are UMC they are very wealthy.

TV hosts are like real estate agents, they need quick recognizable pieces that signal you can let them in your home. Definitely not a random sample of what wealthy women wear. But, if that’s what OP is looking for she should get exactly what everyone else wears, and learn to laugh off anyone who asks about the beau.

If you want a piece of jewelry that lets everyone know "I spent a lot of money on this" I'd probably go with an Alhambra piece. They're also overdone but not mass-marketed yet.

They are EVERYWHERE (Alhambra styled pieces) and I can get one in the back of my nail salon....

Love bangles are statement pieces. Totally different.

Do you spend ANY time on Instagram? Knock-off love bangles are EVERYWHERE. My 12 year old asked me for one (no lie)

The counterfeit love bangles are everywhere.

In the age of social media, nothing is really under the radar anymore.

It’s so funny. DCUM is not fashion-forward, but let the Love bracelet come up and everyone is suddenly Anna Wintour.

I don’t think the Love is the end all be all, but I also have custom pieces and nothing is that outstanding at the $7k price point. So unless you’re getting custom work from the Maison at Graff, please, chill with the weird anti entry-level snobbery.

I simply don’t get the appeal of spending that amount of money on a name. Not that I can afford to. But when I see them on folks it says “basic b*itch” to me.

I like these!

I think buying something for yourself that is normally received as a gift will seem kind of sad to your crowd OP.

Same purpose of all logos: so people know how much you spent.

Something that no one has brought up yet is that part of the reason the love bangles are so popular is that they come in various sizes. I have very thin wrists and most bangles are just way too big on me -- I have to shove them WAY up my forearm if I don't want them clanging all over the place or drooping down my hand. Unless you go custom, there aren't a ton of sizing options for bracelets.

I think back in the day Love bracelets were given exclusively as gifts, but I really don’t think that holds true anymore. I know just as many women who buy them for themselves (or ask an SO for one for a milestone occasion) as women who got them spontaneously. And let’s be real, how many men are that thoughtful at gift giving (especially jewelry) without any hints?

It’s totally okay to buy your own jewelry now. Or request it haha.

OP, don’t let the haters hate. Get what you want.

If you are swayed to look elsewhere, check out bracelets from Ring Concierge. I would look at their Instagram page— the owner Nicole is quite entertaining AND a little controversial (on Reddit I think) by how sarcastic she is towards her toddler. I think she’s great and love her style.

I’ve been eyeing their Roman numeral bangle for awhile and have the small tennis bracelet.

Thank you for recommendation. This is a NP.
Looking at this, very similar to Love bangle at much better price. How is the quality??

Plus, the purpose seems to be different now? Originally the idea was to always wear it, but I see plenty of women screwing it on and then unscrewing it every other day.
