Cartier love bangles

If you want a piece of jewelry that lets everyone know "I spent a lot of money on this" I'd probably go with an Alhambra piece. They're also overdone but not mass-marketed yet.

Or a watch. At least a watch is functional.

Why would people count someone’s else money?
OP, if you like the bracelet-buy it.
Cartier bracelet is not middle class. People on this forum so out of touch with reality. Middle class can buy maybe 1000-2000 gift on a special occasions not 7k bracelet.

This sums it up best. This and the Alhambra bracelet are the Coach purse for the middle class.

Op as others have said if you want to spend this amount on a bracelet, you can find much better workmanship and quality.

Also jewelry, like cars, are not investments. The people at the jewelry counter who tell you that are lying to you. Diamonds do not appreciate. Jewelry does not appreciate.

This is why I can’t quit you, DCUM! Calling the Love bracelet basic? Cool, matter of opinion. But saying that it’s a middle class product is so off base. These are the entry level prices for the items mentioned in this thread.

Coach bag - $200-500
Neverfull - $2000
Alhambra - $3900
Love - $6900
Classic Flap - $8800

To a PP’s point, this isn’t an item accessible to most people. And to be clear, I’m not saying expensive = quality or better taste (and you’re definitely paying a brand premium), just pointing out a huge fallacy I see around here a lot. I suspect the perceived ubiquity of the Love bracelet is driven not by it’s price point, but by social media. You see them all the time in Instagram, which makes them oversaturated for sure. I hardly doubt you’re seeing it on your average mom driving a Toyota Highlander in the suburbs.

Lol I have a toyota and a love bracelet. I think the love bracelet is common in certain circles. I work in a corporate job where we get bonuses and dropping it on a love bracelet, chanel bag, or rolex watch is like the starter pack lol. The average middle class person could not afford this like you said and I agree.

PP didn't say that middle class people are buying them. She said that it's the wealthy equivalent of the middle class coach bag- everywhere. Lots of people on this very thread have confirmed that.

And? You don’t follow fashion at all? It’s ok to buy a popular item. Popularity comes for a reason.

I'm not passing judgement on their popularity JFC! Just correcting the person who keeps saying PP was saying they're middle class. That's not what she said.

How many people can actually afford this though?

Cartier is staying in business somehow, right?

I didn't ask how many people buy them, I asked how many people can actually afford it. Most people driving Mercedes make in the very low six figures. My guess is most of the people spending money on a Love bracelet should be putting that money in their IRAs instead.

MYB. Why do you care who can afford what?

Well when someone comes on a board and asks for input...people give it. It becomes their business! Sorry this is confusing for you.

Lol
This is not a money forum and the input should be strictly fashionable.

I have the open bracelet and love it: https://www.cartier.com/en-us/jewelry/bracelets/love-bracelet-B6032417.html

It's a little cheaper and you don't have to bother with screws.

It’s basic for the UMC, not the middle class. There are many UMC basic women with 3 or so Love bracelets. These are not fashionable or original women. These are crowd-followers.

There is nothing wrong with that though. And yes UMC women are wearing this, but so are actual rich women. I watch the Today Show and Jenna Bush Hager wears them as well as Savannah Guthrie and many of the other Hosts. Almost all of the Housewives on Bravo wear them. And none of these people are UMC they are very wealthy.

TV hosts are like real estate agents, they need quick recognizable pieces that signal you can let them in your home. Definitely not a random sample of what wealthy women wear. But, if that’s what OP is looking for she should get exactly what everyone else wears, and learn to laugh off anyone who asks about the beau.

You don't understand simile. These items are common and yes, lots of suburban moms driving Highlanders wear them.

I think PP meant that the ubiquity of the Coach purse for the middle class is how ubiquitous the Love bracelet is for wealthy people. Everyone has one, it's not special anymore.

Are you out of your mind question “everybody” does not have A Cartier Love bracelet!! This is true even if you’re talking about wealthy people. It’s still seven+ thousand dollars🫢

Op literally said all of her friends have it. That's the everyone here.

They don't get it. For that money op could get a better quality piece of jewelry but she needs something other people recognize. Sheep.
