This would not happen at Wegmans. City Ridge has a more upscale vibe than Giant.
Just wait until they open the Lidl next door.
Does Lidl attract a bad element ? Uptown Place is supposed to be rather upscale.
Lidl is the most downscale supermarket that exists. I think everything they sell is castoffs, including the produce.
I’m very surprised. Upton Place advertises itself as “one of Northwest’s most exclusive enclaves.”
I guess they ran out of supermarket chains to install on Wisconsin Avenue. Why we need two Whole Foods, a Giant, a Wegmans, and a Lidl within about a mile and a half is beyond me. Not to mention a Trader Joe's a bit farther south and Streets and Yes on Connecticut.
Ward 3 needs more vibrant, dense mixed-use retail and food offerings!
