Sounds like a good resume of coaches across all age groups/teams. Question then is, why are these teams arguably the weakest in the DC area and by a large margin? If you were to rank the programs, you'd have Pride, Stars, BLC, Next Level, maybe even YJMA at this point ahead of MC Elite at most ages. Seems like a big downward trend. |
Not sure that is fair. Reality is that there are probably too many teams for the amount of talent in the area. Clearly Pride and Stars are top at the middle school level and can't see anything changing here anytime soon just based on the resources those clubs have. The rest is hit or miss by age group. Historically MCE would get some of the top Next Level girls because Next Level didn't play in big tourneys, but they have stepped up their game here which will hurt. BLC is really only competitive at 2 age groups -- 27 and 30. The rest of them are really rec level. MCE's 25s and 26s are actually somewhat competitive. Long term could see them competing against Stars and Pride for girls who can't make Capital |
The 2030 coaches the 2026 as well so add that to your list. she's a fantastic coach I hear. |
I heard a rumor from a parent on one of the MC Elite teams that they sold their team. Has anyone else heard this rumor? |
This is one of my favorite threads! |
Thanks Jenna |
The 2030 coach is the same as the 2026 coach is the same as the varsity HC coach? How does that work? Is that even allowed? |
BLC 27's , 29's, 30's, 31's and even the 32's are very talented teams. |
BLC is competitive at most age groups, ahead of MCE. Looks like MCE is going to play NGLL this spring, that will tell a lot. |
If this is true it is really what is best for this club and for the girls that have stayed there over the years. |
Every BLC team listed above is either better or substantially better compared to counterparts in the DMV. Next Level 29's and Pride 28's are the only exceptions. |
You are clueless. Look at their website list of current freshman playing in college…(including the one at Michigan who was always at MC): Goldie Aronson (Bullis), Brown University Betty Boatwright (Georgetown Visitation), Washington & Lee Keelin Byrne (Langley), University of Louisville Julia Daly (Langley), Gettysburg College Jailin Jenkins (Bullis), United States Naval Academy Paige Kenny (Stone Ridge), University of New Hampshire Spencer Kirsch (Bullis), Kenyon College Katie Maloney (St. John’s), Drexel University Ellie Muldoon (Stone Ridge), Denison University Megan Myers (Georgetown Visitation), University of Denver Grace Nemeroff (Whitman), Brown University Grayson O’Marra (Bethesda-Chevy Chase), Denison University Lizzie Rosenman (GDS), University of St Andrews, Scotland Peyton Shreves (Holy Child), University of Michigan Sydney Tepper (Holy Child), United States Naval Academy |
Say what you want about MC, that's a pretty good list. |
Agreed BUT everyone who has been paying attention knows that the 22s were the last decent class MCE had. We shall see where the 23s, 24s and 25s end up. |
the 26s are very good. They really are. They are just a team that has been thrown together but they have talent. Stop ripping on everything MC. Not everyone wants to play Capital. You can have a strong player who has a different path. Rank is not every thing. You aren't bringing your entire team to college if/when you sign. Stop the insanity. No wonder the sport is so crazy. Parents need to chill OUT. |
