Thoughts on MC Elite?

what does double rostered mean? can your child play JV and varsity? or, is that not possible? MC could be a good option if some of the top girls who don't make the A team at Capital choose to go there. why play on a B team if you are strong enough for an A team elsewhere. Not knocking B teams. But if your daughter is strong enough to play A and has a solid team, she should play where it is most convenient.

how many girls are expected at MC tryouts? curious how that works. Also, if your child makes their A team but wants to tryout for another club a week later, how does that work? tryout timing is very messy. I assume for the $ and puts pressure to commit. Ugh

wait - the owner is selling MC Elite? so confused on this thread!

Double rostered typically means practice with varsity and if they don't get in the varsity game, play in JV game. So yes, they can play in both. It is common with DMV privates.

MC Elite does do crazy early tryouts compared to almost all other teams. My guess is to lock people down from trying out for other clubs.

Yup, and they play games by saying you made a team, but still evaluating which one (A or B), but give us your money anyway and we'll let you know soon.

Their younger programs are unfortunately horrendous now. Barely can compete in B brackets. Sinking ship unless the can figure out how to show a better product with the youth teams

Doesn't help that their rec program is also struggling. DD team played them and they didn't even have a coach until about half time nor enough players.

Make decisions based on your DDs grad year. Different clubs field different levels of quality, imo. Could be a terrible 28 team and an okay 25 team, for example.

No program is the strongest across every grade level (even the Baltimore clubs).

I wish the lacrosse world weren’t so crazy.

So much mis information and lies on this blog. There are always coaches at practices and games, tryouts r earlier so families can go to multiple tryouts and make an informed decision, they don’t want to strong hold families or take money before team placement. The success of the HS players and what the alums in college r actually doing on the field is why our DD plays for the program and is not club shopping. I am grateful for the family friend who had 2 girls go through program. Arrogance over athleticism is toxic. This weekend at Champions Cup MCE 25s went 4-0, 26s and 28s did well too.

Everyone has left this club including the coaches. Based on the year I would try for Next Level or Bethesda. Then in high school try for Capital. If you can handle the drive just go straight to Hero's now.

Plus 1. Coaches are extremely unreliable and you will often find your team with a college student who doesn't even know the players as your coach at tournaments and games.

It has to be. YJ can't even field teams at any age group. FranKly it's a buzz kill.
