Only their 2029 A team is really a club team.

By the 0-2 record and the minus 22 goal differential, it doesn't appear like the 29 A team is actually a real club team either....

They would be fine in the B division and have a few kids that may have a shot at Capital Orange in the summer.

Odds are they would be winless in B as well just not as lopsided MC not so Elite pretty much died with the 22 class.

That's sad. There were some great players to come out of that club

The former owner/director is the person 100% responsible for the decline she caused this out of pure greed.

I'm curious if the St james

The most recent former owner inherited a great team from her predecessors and cashed out with TSJ. MCE plays in the NGLL because there is nowhere else to go. They tried to make their own league with TSJ merger, but completely failed. They can't even get into LLL because of one of their coaches.

There was no cashing out that happened and the "most recent former owner" did not "inherit" the club from her predecessors. Those of us who have been around with multiple kids playing for years can all set you straight on that. She founded the club and when she temporarily stepped away from it there were 2 women who took over running the day to day stuff but she still owned the club. Then she came back. But she was always involved and it has always been her club so it's obvious you are going on heresay, not actual knowledge. MCE was promised lots of things from TSJ that never happened. She def did not make money off of the merger. I have that on pretty good authority. And she's still working for them and coaching teams. 2. My daughter's MCE team is in LLL this summer so that's also false. We were at the original parent meeting where St James promised a new league, new trainings at their Bethesda facility, Kristen Carr as the Director who was going to be coming to practices, and more high level development, which was all a big part of the reason why MCE said they liked the merger, but TSJ didn't deliver. TSJ dropped the ball on so many things they promised. And it was all TSJ telling the parents directly what they were going to do. They can't get out of their own way which is why TSJ has run Stars into the ground as well. MCE would have been better without the merger, IMO.

Some of this sounds legit. Didn't make money on the merger? That makes no sense. Why would an owner merge and not make money? They should make money.

Is TSJ even profitable? Why do they keep acquiring lacrosse teams to kill them?

I'm not sure how anyone can say she didn't make money on the merger. Maybe she thought she would make more. But isn't she driving around town in a black G-wagon these days?

Every youth lax club has to be a money maker given how much people spend on it around here.

I haven't seen any other club claim that they are not making money off them...

It’s a business. I hope she made money. If she didn’t I’d view that as a flag. Club sports aren’t nonprofit. Nor should they be. Supply demand.

That is not true at all. There are plenty of non-profit clubs. BLC and Hero’s are both non-profits, as just 2 examples.

To the one person who has their head in the sand about MCE, let me share a fact, and that is at the very least, before the STJ merger/purchase of MC Elite, they were a 501c3 nonprofit...

The 10th question in the FAQ of the clubs' website reads " Are you for profit?" and the answer that they have provided is "We are a non-profit, 501c3 organization."

That was a lot of BS. Try finding a Form 990 for MC Elite ever.

Reach out and tell them you want a copy; they have no choice but to send it. Then, when you get it, you will see where all those club dues went, like for a new car for someone at MCE...

The 501c3 was set up under the nonprofit name of Champions of Tomorrow Foundation of MD MC Elite is or was under that umbrella.

The hate and stalking is werid. If you ever saw her house you would know it is modest. Have you looked up the owners and books for NL, Heros, M&D, Capital too?

Nobody is getting rich off youth club lacrosse. The clubs get by and pay decent but not outrageous salaries to the staff and coaches. It costs a lot to cover salary, rent, insurance, facility maintenance & operations, and tournament fees. Unless a club has multiple teams at each grade level from elementary to HS, it’s hard to spread the overheads. That’s why smaller clubs have sold out to 3Steps and STJ. The original owners are hardly recouping all their time and money they’ve invested into the clubs.

Ok. So find the 990 for that. You can’t.
