Thoughts on MC Elite?

Anyone have thoughts or feedback on MC Elite? My daughter is considering trying out for high school.

It is a great good option. Here is their published recruitment page.

If your child is in HS and you want to stay in MoCo for practices then it’s fine, but not good.

At MS and younger you’re better served looking at Next Level for MoCo.

26 Midnight is a solid team but outside of that team, their HS teams are not the strongest. 24 and 25 Midnight are also decent but with huge rosters so would be hard to make especially this late in HS.

If you make a Carolina team, I would stay away. Those poor teams just end up in the wrong brackets of tournaments and get smacked most games.

26 Midnight has fallen apart just like the rest of the teams

With the caveat of staying in MoCo, for HS Renegades would be the best choice, followed by MC Elite and then Next Level. Bethesda does not have a HS team.

Below HS, I think the order would be Next Level, followed by Renegades, MC Elite and then Bethesda.

You mean Rebels. Renegades is Frederick.

From 2024-2027, Rebels teams beat Next Level teams either last week or in NGLL this spring.

Shame about MC 26s because there are some really good players on that team. My guess is they go to Capital or Hero's as seems to be recent history with MC Elite top players.

MCE is a great option, more than fine. MS and freshmen year team is to prepare for HS and the success is there. They have HC, AHC, Stone Ridge and Langley coach on staff, and they rotate through practices. Previous Whitman coach has been with club forever and is now with the 2031s. 2030s r solid, teams r not blowing up. NL is just fine. They r the club for the avg player who wants to play a few tournaments. HS program is just for players who want to a keep a stick in hand. I cannot think of any impact player in HS who played for NL excerpt one, and is not at a strong HS program, and does not play for NL in HS, hmm. Tryout ask questions in person.

Why did they fall apart? Are there other 26 teams falling apart?

B teams can be tough anywhere but they serve a real purpose. For those of us whose daughters are not amazing, D1-bound, rock star lacrosse players but still want to play through high school and make a Varsity team, a B team is worth it. Yes - B teams can get a little beaten up in tournaments if they aren't in the right brackets but I always tell my daughter it's about playing to get better. My daughter would likely NOT have made her Varsity HS team as a junior if she had not still been playing for her club team. There's too much competition to make Varsity if you aren't a club player. FWIW - my friend's daughter was recruited to play at her first choice school from an MC Elite B team and her HS coach provided no help at all for recruiting.

It depends what you are looking for. If it's college recruiting then don't go anywhere near Next Level. Looking at their website and I don't think they have any coaches over the age of 25.They have never put a girl HS player into college. And HS is too late to start thinking about Club if you want to play in college. Bethesda goes through 8th grade and their players don't typically make A teams anywhere for HS.

Don’t waste your time or money. Very poorly run club, high level of coaching turnover, very mixed talent levels on teams. And they are desperate for money, so they will put more kids than appropriate on a team leading to reduced playing time.

I actually just read that their 25 team has a bunch of Yorktown girls on it who just won the State Championship. All the starting Varsity players at Stone Ridge are either on MCE or Capital A and getting a ton of playing time as sophomores, from what I've heard. Visi starters also play for 24 Capital or 24 MCE, maybe 2 for Pride. I would guess that those rosters are pretty set at this point.

We played SR. Very few of the 24 MCE players actually saw much playing time in significant games at SR. It's mainly the Capital girls and the MCE 22s (Who were very good). All but 2 MCE 24s were double rostered based on the rosters posted to the SR website.

Visi is mainly Pride and Captial, even M&D. 3 MCE 24s play for Visi total between both MCE teams.

A little check on the rosters posted to websites helps fact check.

STAY. AWAY. FROM. THIS. CLUB.

Agree with many above...especially for the B teams. They take your money and then ignore the problems, such as coaches quitting/not showing up for games and practices. They will take anyone who can cradle a ball and stick them on a Carolina team...tryouts are a joke. The club owner is scattered and can't seem to keep coaches on staff. It's a mess. Certainly not worth $3K a year. Plus I heard she is looking to sell.
