It would be nice if kids were taught by their parents to MYOB and respect the kids that need to wear a mask.

MAGA doesn’t believe in manners.

Funny story one of child's friends has a parent who told them not to dare wear a mask at school today. I guess MAGA likes to say my child needs to choose but then doesn't actually allow the child to choose. SICK!

Don't ask your kid. If they tell you, fine. If they want to talk about it, fine, listen.

Keeping the issue front & center just causes mounting stress.

As a family who lives in a state where masking was dropped in October, I noticed most of the masked kids only stayed masked for about a week. Teachers weren't allowed to enforcement it, so most kids just stopped.

This. I have absolutely no clue because I don't care enough to ask. Everyone gets to make their own choice. Knowing what random kids in their classes do has absolutely no impact on my or my kids' choices.

I have bigger things to worry about.

All 3 kids reported less than 15 kids total without a mask. They all agreed that the maskless kids were the ones who tried to previously attend without a mask after Youngkin took office.

Not allowed. You can report them.

Yes you can call Mr. Y's hotline

Like what's going on with DC MUM?!

Middle schooler said “a bunch” were without masks. He didn’t wear one.

Child in elementary said most kids randomly put them on and off all day. She did the same. She wore it for a while and took it off for a few classes and then put it back on for the bus.

Vienna area.

DC in high school said he didn't wear a mask and everyone treated him the same as usual.

It was split 50/50 in DS's kindergarten class. Both teachers masked.

Only 1 kid was unmasked out of all our DCs' classrooms. And I just knew it would be that kid -exactly the type everyone thinks of: republican/libertarian contrarian

But you cared enough to come to this thread to see what was happening at other schools.

6th grader reported teacher was masked and 2/27 unmasked.

9th grader reported ALL teachers masked and only 3 kids out if her 4 classes unmasked. She has blocked schedule so we will see what tomorrow brings.

My fourth said all 24 kids in her class were wearing a mask, but the teacher said was not.

Hmm. My kid goes there too and said it was about 50/50. Teachers and students.

Do you have strong opinions about masks? Your kids may be tilting reality to what they think you want to the case. Or what will get you to stop talking about it. Or they are really bad at estimating (which most people are).
