| Good for you, OP. I hope your business does wonderfully. |
The narrative certainly has changed regarding the vaccine. We were promised covid would be eliminated if only 50% got the vaccine. If we got the vaccine, we would not get covid, remember? Then it was well you can still get it but you won't get as sick, but you have to keep being boosted. We don't know when it will end. If they didn't know the vaccine would lose efficacy long term how can they tell us there are no long term side effects? The goal posts keep changing...when will it end? In the meantime I'll keep heading to VA to enjoy the freedom. |
Ha. My DH said the same thing about his fully vaccinated status and refusing to get boosted. He received his second vax in May and had a bad case, not severe case of covid. He survived the covid but early January he was hospitalized due to the covid's lingering negative affects on his heart. Yeah, those vaccinations don't last long term. |
Poor alcoholics cannot afford the membership fees. |
Lol. First I have ever heard of Costco as a premium product because of the pocket-change membership fee. Costco is the "I accidentally had one more kid than I could afford" store |
Mayor Bowser gives them free Costco membership cards. Just ask the poster who boasts about free transportation, pre-K daycare, UBI for poor mommies, and all the other freebies. |
Not to mention all the DC officials who rent cheap apartments to enroll their kids in NOVA schools. |
| OP - how come you still haven't named the restaurant you own? Feeling shy? |
Once I went to Ambar in Clarendon because I love that restaurant and it was last minute and their were no reservations on Capitol Hill. Once, in 38 years here. Lol JK I've been to Ruan Thai and Peking Gourmet a few times, but this idea that District residents will go to VA to dine is hilarious. |
Really? Which officials? If anything, they would do this for MoCo schools. Who should want VA schools? |
|
Most of us live in DC so that we don't HAVE to live in VA. I don't think about VA very often at all.
Boring at best and an armpit at worst. And I'm not some weirdo who has issues with vaccines or masks or wants guns or other goofy VA sh*t. Yeah, VA is cheaper. There's a reason... |
Actually DC restaurants are one reason to fo to DC. And DC really needs the revenue What will they do with tax base from office buildings. More homeless shelters and affordable housing? |
It is mostly Alexandria and Arlington. |
It is definitely not happening in Alexandria public schools. They're not any better than DCPS, and Ward 3 schools in DC should be far superior to anything in ACPS. Here in DC, we usually have the impression that Arlington might have some good schools but they're overcrowded. Again, probably not better than Ward 3 DCPS schools. The sole exception would be TJ, which might have been worth it in the past. Conclusion: OP and this PP (if they are different people) are not DC residents, are not even local, and probably don't own this hypothetical restaurant. Simple local knowledge suggests we have a troll amongst us. |
TJ isn’t worth sending kids to anymore? Why not? I’m confused |
