Travelling with nanny is it ok to put her in economy when we all do first?

Who are all these people not understanding why someone with teens and tweens has a nanny? We don’t have one anymore but my work colleagues are super not amused by my blocking out 3-6 every day so I can do school pickup, drive kids to practice, etc. I know lots of people that continued to pay their nanny FT to do basically a few hours of work a day. It’s usually a very sweet gig for a nanny that is often on the older side and attached to the family. We would have done this with our nanny but her kids came into some money and encouraged her to quit once covid hit.

This has to be a troll post. Or you're from another country, yes?

Middle Eastern wealthy families apparently put the nanny AND the kids in coach while the parents fly first. I think that's fine, honestly. But wouldn't put her in coach alone.

Those folks also live by rules that haven't changed since the middle ages, so not a good example for the rest of us to follow.

Former nanny here. I'd rather by myself in coach than in first class with the kids.

If you fly private, you can avoid this kind of dilemma although you will then have to decide if the kids go in a backwards facing seat if the nanny.

Yes we have a nanny and tweens but she's more of a household helper as the kids only need driving to and from school and activities.

Is she not? Is there a chance that your husband is sleeping with her?

It seems odd to bring your nanny along who isn’t really even a nanny. Sounds like she is a housekeeper.

Meant to ask if she was hot.

You put the nanny, kids and dh in economy and the lady gets to sit in business. Yeah! Unless, the dh has a thing for the nanny, then you shouldn't take the nanny at all. Just saying.

If you can afford to take a nanny, you can afford a better seat for her.

Then why are you bringing the nanny???

She wanted to go on vacation and we offered to add her to ours. We wouldn't be using her as a nanny on Vacation.

In that case I would still book her in 1st because you’re going to end up using her anyway. Why do you still have a nanny with tweens and teens?

I know someone who still has their nanny for their teenagers, but she has always been more than just a nanny. She does all the cooking and cleaning for the whole fam. It is not unusual. In fact, they might still keep her when the kids are in college because they don’t do any of their own cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, laundry, etc.

Did you have to get an Australian work permit for her?

Maybe it's the hubby who users her.

Yeah, I am surprised that they do not put the wife in economy!

It sounds like you can't afford first class.
