Yikes. |
I say it's time for Andrew Yang to put his money where his mouth is. |
Pretty crazy, right? I agree that we need a crackdown on employers who hire undocumented immigrants. That would be a good start for both Democrats and Republicans. I mean, how can Democrats support allowing business owners who pay cash wages under the table, to avoid paying the $15/hour minimum wage. That makes zero sense! The PP was citing Scandinavia. How many undocumented immigrants does Scandinavia take in every year compared to the US? Comparing the US to Scandinavia is asinine and disingenuous. |

Yup. Promoting more and better paying job? Naw, let’s not do that. It might inconvenience some rich liberals fantasies. It’s going to be an interesting case study as a counter balance to Kansas in the destructiveness of liberalism. |
| At least they are testing it to assess whether this entitlement will really do what it is supposed to do. Unfortunately, if implemented full scale, the citizens of MoCo will be funding illegal immigrants and MoCo will become an even stronger magnet than it already is. Learning gap won’t go away. |
It’s already been tested as a pilot in Stockton, CA. So that’s not a credible rationale for allocating a significant amount of tax money. |
The county already has multiple rental assistance programs, eviction programs, child care vouchers for low income and working families, multiple medical programs and utility assistance. There are multiple social service programs for clothing and household stuff. And, MCPS is providing multiple meals a day plus other programs available. |
| I like UBI at the federal level. It is a stupid idea to do ITAC the county level though. |
And, where do those grants come from? |
Taxpayers! Usually middle-class taxpayers, for that matter. Since the wealthy can avoid paying taxes and the lower-income families get tax breaks. |
And, free health insurance for kids. Montgomery County does a fantastic job providing for kids’ needs. UBI is a terrible idea. |
That is essentially the same as reducing our taxes and why that is such an important issue to so many of us. |
