I can see why they are divorced. Cheaters |
Nope, not at all. But I can smell you projecting from 100 miles away. |
| Online dating can be a clusterfu@k. I just had a man lecture me on my slow response time (ie I never responded to his multiple messages), and how communication is fundamental to a good relationship. He even added a key emoji. DELETE |

Op, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be getting matches but I agree--have a male friend (or female?) be honest about your pictures; check your settings; inject some humor into the bio. Online dating can be such a chore but wit and humor can really be a great hook (and hopefully insight into your personality).
Here are the notes I would hit: divorced mom of one, professional/financially independent; fit and slim; interested in companionship, dating ,open to LTR. Mostly though, you need good pictures. If you dont have them, you can pay someone a relatively small sum to take some casual, outdoorsy but well lit pictures. My brother, who got NO hits on his profile, finally showed it to me and I was like, dude, you look like a serial killer in these pictures and not like yourself. Semi-professional pics and now he's got a few dates lined up. also wtf, nothing wrong with words staid and feral. Then again I'm a 51 year old woman so not in OPs dating demographic. |

If you are not smiling in your picture I will swipe left. You need to have something in your profile that says something about who you are and not what you are. There is a difference. As someone said, that 1% answer about who pays for lunch was golden. If a woman makes me laugh, she's more attractive.
All the women I date now are in my age range - 45 - 60 - and have grown kids, so that is not an issue. |
LMAO this must be his first time on OLD I am a guy and I think you should tell him 1. He is lucky to get any responses at all from a woman let alone slow ones 2. When he sends multiple messages, it makes him look desperate, and this is unattractive |
+1. OP, you're trying too hard to come across as intellectual and philosophical. Nix interesting ideas, cultural outings, current events, etc. Try going for more of a fun vibe, and less of the batty, eccentric aunt who you dutifully talk to at family gatherings but tell your spouse to create a fake emergency 20 minutes in so you can escape vibe. |
OP, try being a lot more specific. what is an "interesting idea?" that can vary so widely -- for one person, it's bitcoin, for another it is nature conservation. just two examples from literally thousands of "interesting ideas." same with "literature." who are your favorite authors? same with cultural outings! like what? going to see Hamilton, or visiting Rome? For every single one of those, exchange the word for something specific that you actually enjoy. Try it as an experiment! |
Yikes! |
