Trip to all-inclusive resort in Jamaica in less than two weeks..... All healthy. |
Healthy for now. We have no way of knowing what the long term effects of this virus are. Why risk it??? |
Not me. I’m a fan of government regulations. I think the government should step in a lot more and get a few people vacationing as possible. |
Would you go to nyc this weekend?
I had every intention of going but everyone I talk to thinks I’m nuts to even consider going. |
It’s hard to know just when the S is going to hit the fan. I think it’s coming, just don’t know when. |
I’d definitely go. |
I wouldn’t go to NYC this weekend. |
Portugal for first week of April? Solo trip for just myself, and I’d have a tween at home. |
While I appreciate your abundance of caution, the CDC is still not recommending the extreme measures you're advocating. I will base my travel and recreation decisions on their actual site until they state otherwise. |
I’d suggest November, in case it starts up again as the weather gets cold. |
Go ahead and go. Roll the dice! |
Why not? Everyone is doing it https://www.chicagotribune.com/coronavirus/sns-cruise-passengers-undeterred-by-coronavirus-20200310-o6bxqszkgje7jjizw5ax2lrhiq-story.html?outputType=amp |
You do understand that they are under pressure from the POTUS to keep the economy going. Listen to Dr Fauci very closely and you will see that he is in favor of a lot of social distancing and keeping to yourself. |
Can you drive? I'd be a little nervous about restrictions on Amtrak, or getting stuck there if you start to get sick (and you can't get on a plane/train). Also, FYI, I think it maybe is a little more widespread in NYC than you'd think. I was talking to someone up there today and they know two people who are close contacts of people who tested positives. And, no, the person I talked to isn't an Orthodox Jews and isn't from New Rochelle. |
Social distancing does not necessarily mean no travel. If you are suspicious of the CDC’s motives, NPR also has independent medical experts who provide a very thorough explanation. You can google NPR and “to fly or not to fly”. |
