Can't say for sure but MD |
Of course they can |
^^^ Informative! They are surprise visits. No they can't. |
Which school is this? Most home visits are optional. |
Home visits are usually scheduled and can take place outside the home (aka a coffee shop). They are for the teacher to build a relationship with the students family. They are NOT done to confirm residency or ferret out cheating. |
Crazy creepy mom is almost definitely the same as Wilson gun poster. |
Hey, rampant local corruption, cheating and guns are just part of our diverse urban fabric. What's wrong with being Mogadishu on the Potomac? |
To the pp poster who reported residency fraud and was successful, what did you do and how did you do it? I've made a report in the past but nothing happened. |
I followed up. A lot. |
That would be a great name for a restaurant. Where you going tonight? Mogadishu on the Potomac Oh damn, I hear they have killer oysters You know it kid |
I've reported plenty of fraud and corruption--here, and to people who might be able to do something about it. Thing is, where I've seen it is in the affluent parts of DC. And you know what? If a single mom making 10 bucks an hour working at a burger place in the district wants to send her 3 year old to school near her? Good for her. Our country can't ass itself to pay for working parents to get childcare--we all do what we can. I'm sure you've justified your own illegal nannies and cleaning staff--while on that topic. But what I see? The sheer amount of waste and good old boy networking in the school renovation crowd, the charter school boards, the lobbyists for school "choice" (and btw, I send our child to a charter school)-- that all might as well be effing Sicely or Moscow. |
Sicily, even. Our pick your favorite banana republic here. |
I heard that the Chancellor has identified the residency problem as an issue she will focus on this year, identifying and collecting tuition from out of state residents using DCPS. Anyone have further info on that? I couldn't find a link. |
Well... We all know you're on the job. Despite, as has become increasingly clear, not even having a child at a dcps. |
That will shut down half the schools in wards 5, 7, and 8. I'll believe it when I see it. |
