Yeah, I also don't think this is a breakup mechanism. There are a lot of signs that the boyfriend is probably into some sketchy activities. I would not be surprised if he's just passed out in the living room of someone's double wide, sleeping off the latest binge or whatever. He'll pull himself together and skulk back into her life.

Can one even make a living wage "hauling cows"? I'm pretty sure I saw a documentary once that indicated most people working low-wage jobs associated with slaughterhouses and feedlots are recent immigrants (legal and otherwise) and people with other things in their profiles/backgrounds that would make other work difficult to obtain. Apparently the employers aren't very fastidious about looking into who is doing the work because you have to just take on whoever is willing to do such low-paying, disgusting labor anyway. (I also read a lot of my daughter's pro-vegan books, so it could have been from those).





Op here: he's never complained about money to me or had issues paying bills, for dates, etc. so no idea. I've never flat out asked him how much he makes


See, I wouldn't have thought this a living wage job, so I would have wanted to know exactly what else he was doing to make ends meet. The ambiguity all adds to the seediness of this guy for me.

OP, feel free to lock this thread. You can always do a new post if there's a conclusion. But my guess is that you won't see this guy next weekend.

If you are local, I'd look into counseling at the Women's Center. They accept payment on a sliding scale. I think you might need some help making better decisions (based on this and the previous thread).

I don't think OP is a troll, but more than once I've thought today - this would be some kind of movie. Definitely need some visuals at this point.
