I hear he has made substantial progress. Just needs one or two senators. The pressure is turning up on this whole out senators.

I don't think so. It looks like his meeting with Joni Ernst didn't go particularly well. And she's a combat veteran and surviver of sexual assault. It only takes three Republican senators to sink the nomination. I have a really hard time seeing how Hedgseth gets to 50.

Trump will be attending the Army Navy game on Saturday. If DeSantis is in the box with Trump, it is very over for Hedgseth.

No. this DEI woke stuff is dead. It is time for the republicans to support Trump or resign.

I still don't get the opposition to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The opposites are uniformity/conformity, inequity, and exclusion. Who wants to be PRO conformity, inequity, and exclusion?

You can’t support these completely unqualified nominees and bleat about DEI with the same mouth.

Personally, I want to see Hegseth go all Kavanaugh during his confirmation: "Yes, we drank beer. My friends and I. Boys and girls. Yes, we drank beer. I liked beer. Still like beer. We drank beer."

Explain how you want to see equality work, exactly.
Also, explain how there seem to be a lot of "legacy" admissions to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. Why are there generations of people given (and I mean literally given) the opportunity to go to those schools? Where has the outcry been all these years that generations of white men are getting admitted to Ivy League schools, qualified or not, because of their last name/donors/etc.
Your party's disdain for equity (or hell, even equality really) rings so incredibly hollow when I can't recall a single republican complaint about those college admissions. It's only when other people who aren't white men began getting a thumb on the scale that we call it discrimination.

Yes MAGA is being complete aholes to Joni Ernst who served honorably in a long distinguished military career, wants the issue of sexual assault within the ranks taken seriously, supports women in combat, and is definitely looking askance at this clown.

Right. So much for their patriotism and actually honoring those who have served (she put up with assault while in uniform!!).

Her husband stated in an affidavit she had an affair with a subordinate soooo... since unsubstantiated allegations are a thing now we'll go with she's a cheater. She will be one of the hold outs for theater or she will cave.

Hegseth is a cheater, too.

The Unabomber (Ted Kaczynski) graduated from Harvard.

True. So why do so many DCUM posters want their kids to go there?

They're coming down hard on Joni Ernst.

In case anyone else is seeing the word "warfighter" for the first time and wonders what it means, this one definition I found:

The term "warfighter" is a relatively modern term that has gained prominence in military terminology in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. It is often used to describe service members who are directly engaged in combat and military operations.

I can't believe we are still debating whether this clown should be SecDef.

We shouldn't even be getting to his womanizing, multiple affairs, alleged abuse of women, financial shenanigans, and alcoholism.

The guy is a talking head on TV. It's so ridiculous.

Hmm. I'm pretty confident there aren't a lot of soldiers that refer to themselves as "warfighters," unless used ironically and with air quotes. Maybe a few 18 year olds in their second week at Parris Island. Joni Ernst is being very cringe.

He will be the next SOD. This weekend will be an all out attack on the senate republican hold outs or as maga calls them traitors. After this all other Trump nominees will be approved with no resistance.

You missed that Trump isn’t fighting for this guy at all. Also it’s SecDef, not whatever TF “SOD” is.

Umm, if you have spent any time at all around the military, you will know this is a very commonly used term.
