I don't think so. It looks like his meeting with Joni Ernst didn't go particularly well. And she's a combat veteran and surviver of sexual assault. It only takes three Republican senators to sink the nomination. I have a really hard time seeing how Hedgseth gets to 50.

Trump will be attending the Army Navy game on Saturday. If DeSantis is in the box with Trump, it is very over for Hedgseth.

PP here. Hey, I'm no fan of Hegseth and voted for Harris. I can still see the frequent hypocrisy on DCUM...if it's a Democrat or liberal, those degrees are everything!! Just read the College and Political forums. If it's those who are conservative or Republican, then their adnittance and degrees are easily obtained. Such BS!!

Yes. Princeton, Harvard, ROTC, and his service in the National Guard during the GWOT is what he has going for him.

But none of that qualifies him to be the Secretary of Defense. And the rest of it - both professional and personal issues - are outright disqualifying.

I find it curious that Trump is letting this guy dangle in the wind for as long as he has. But then I remember that Trump is a reality tv guy. And people always need to look at Trump though that prism. I suspect if Hedgseth was an ugly man he never would have been picked to begin with. Trump is merely looking at this through the eyes of a reality tv producer. And he thinks the drama is good for ratings. Only when there is a consensus that Hedgseth is a villain will he cut him loose. Hearings aren't until February so he'll milk it for as long as he thinks it's advantageous for his ratings.

If unsubstantiated allegations were really a thing Trump wouldn't have won the election.
