Youngkin & Miyares state they will challenge federal vaccine mandate for hospital workers

Anonymous
Youngkin and Miyares have officially stated they plan to challenge the federal vaccine mandate for hospital workers as 25 other states have already done. This is the mandate under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services but as this article explains as Youngkin has issued his public opposition to the OSHA vaccine mandate requirement this is probably just the beginning of changes Virginia will start seeing. Youngkin takes office January 15.

I suspect the state wide school mask mandate could soon be on the table.

Here is the article from the Times Dispatch. I am pretty surprised I have heard NOTHING about this in the DMV press.

Yes, because who doesn't want to go to the hospital for a non-covid issue and get infected there?

I think ESSER requires mask mandates but I have to dig into it.

Elect clowns, expect a circus.

Healthcare professionals worked for months before a vaccine was even available. Patients did not catch Covid at the hospitals. Why? Because healthcare workers wore appropriate PPE. PPE if effective.

The current Covid vaccine mandates are government overreach, especially for this particular shot. I am happy to see more states challenging this nonsense.

The statewide school mask mandate will be gone. But Youngkin is on the record for aatung he will let localities do as they please on mask mandates. The state senate is still Dem controlled so no statewide ban on masks will come about until after the next election cycle.

If this happens you may get an influx of healthcare workers from other states moving to VA in order to remain employed.

Can patients request vaccinated nurses? The unvaccinated staff should be reserved for the unvaccinated patients.

This.

Could be a good thing at a time when there is a shortage of healthcare workers in general.

Mayo Clonic fired something like 700 employees for being unvaccinated. Because, during a pandemic, surely it makes sense to fire the remaining healthcare workers, who have been faithfully putting their own lives on the line since Day 1. So crazy!

So, the states that life these ridiculous vaccine mandates will be able to hire travel nurses or employees from other states. It would help alleviate the nursing shortage! Definitely a good move right now, when hospitals need all the help they can get.

LOL

Are you going to ask if the nurse is also boosted?

What good is a vaccinated nurse, if her second shot was over a year ago? How does it make a difference?

Tell that to my cousin who contracted covid while in the hospital for a different condition.

Oh wait, you can’t because he died. So take your ignorance elsewhere.
