I am speechless and upset.
Are all other schools do the same? Do you think 2 3-layers masks are easier for little kids than KN95 masks? |
|
But not 4 or 6 year olds?
No, I don’t think cloth is easier. |
| My preteen prefers the N95 to cloth and surgical masks. |
| They are not requiring this. Read the email. They provide various options, including KN95. |
|
My 11 year old wears a KF94, because there are no N95s for children. It is required for her youth orchestra rehearsals.
I assume your guidelines will actually allow a KF94, but you'll have to find the smallest size - look on Amazon for "KF94 4-8 years old", or something. Our family has always found N95, KN95 and KF94 to be much more comfortable than fabric masks. My children have worn then for 12+ hours door-to-door for an international trip this summer. They are light and stay off the nose and mouth, which is great. |
| My 8 year old wears one. What’s the issue? |
| ^ forgot to say that my 11 year old is tiny, with a tiny face, and she fits into the 5-8 year old size of KF94, which is why I used her as an example. |
| Stay home then |
| There is no issue here. Kids don’t care. Put your kid in the better mask. |
No virtual option |
|
OP here. My kids were really hoping to get rid of the masks once everyone was vaccinated. They were really happy to do it for this reason and now they need to wear a much worse masks to avoid getting a cold.
It’s ridiculous |
| We are asked by the HOS to do this for 30 days until the wave has hopefully passed. You seem pretty selfish and insensitive. |
I think your kids will live. |
| Still can stay home without virtual. We all have choices. They are providing asynchronous for those who object to what they are offering in person. |
| Home school or deal with it. I find KF94s and KN95s more comfortable so do my kids- who knows, maybe your kids won’t mind them. We all want to be done with masks but keeping schools open is more important. Have you seen the current case count? |
