What's incredibly frustrating about all this is you dont understand math. Everything you do is an agenda. If you did understand math you'd know that the correct matrix that includes grade is the same thing as what US Soccer provided. You dont like the grade matrix because you have an agenda to play older players down against younger ones. Putting everything together correctly in a single matrix blows appart your play down agenda. |

In the 2026–2027 school year, children born after August 1, 2010, will generally be entering 10th grade (Sophomore year). Depending on their specific birth month and your local district's cutoff date.

Age guy doesnt understand math 2010s born after 8/1 are most likely to be Sophmores next fall not Juniors. Which is why below is mathematically correct. Age guy doesnt understand math Still 100% correct. Age guy doesnt understand math This is for next fall when SY starts. Age guy doesnt understand math 11v11 = U18/U19 = ≤ 8/1/2007 ≈ Senior 11v11 = U17 = ≤ 8/1/2009 ≈ Junior 11v11 = U16 = ≤ 8/1/2010 ≈ Sophmore 11v11 = U15 = ≤ 8/1/2011 ≈ Freshman 11v11 = U14 = ≤ 8/1/2012 ≈ 8th grade 11v11 = U13 = ≤ 8/1/2013 ≈ 7th grade 9v9/11v11 = U12 = ≤ 8/1/2014 ≈ 6th grade 9v9 = U11 = ≤ 8/1/2015 ≈ 5th grade 9v9 = U10 = ≤ 8/1/2016 ≈ 4th grade 7v7 = U9 = ≤ 8/1/2017 ≈ 3rd grade 7v7 = U8 = ≤ 8/1/2018 ≈ 2nd grade 4v4 = U7 = ≤ 8/1/2019 ≈ 1st grade 4v4 = U6 = ≤ 8/1/2020 ≈ Kindergarten Age guy doesnt understand math Using U14 as an example what this is saying is... Age guy doesnt understand math 1. They play 11v11 2. Players turn 14 after Aug 1 3. Players are younger than or equal to 8/1/2012 4. Players are most likely in 8th grade |
There is no correct matrix other than to list the age ranges. |
Yes that is exactly what someone would say and think if the didn't understand math. |
Not everyone does, thus making it impractical. I could create a unique language exclusively for the age change and even list the definitions, but if it's too complicated, it's a failure. I'd say trying to use math to explain something that's not math is probably not a great idea. |
| Everyone would do better at communication if they learned about the ladder of abstraction. Google it! |
I dont cater to dumb people. The correct matrix with grade is 100% the same as what US Soccer provided. |
Then you're a failure at communication. |

I appreciate the effort, but I stopped reading immediately. Eyes glazed over. |
Only agenda here is grade guy bulldozing Aug kids out of the way to help his Sept DD. Case by case works but so many especially around here and like ECNL guy have a no exceptions off of age because of people like you looking for special treatment. |
This isnt the issue. The issue us that age guy wants older players to play down against younger ones. When you add grade to US Soccers eligibility matrix it makes it impossible for him to try and sneak in playing down. Even more of an issue to age guys play down agenda is if Aug birthdays play on their correct grade in school team. This is because when Aug birthdays play on their correct grade in school team everyone on the field is the same graduating year. (except holdbacks) Which ultimately is what college coaches want when recruiting/scouting players. |
This is better with the intro. |
Wrong.. Mathematically incorrect and tells older players they can play down when they cant |
