https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1580147174118917&id=100063709473312 Another Facebook thread where a parent with a Seotember birthday kid is asking about what to do this fall. All the comments suggest playing up so they're not misaligned when its time for college recruiting. Im starting ti see a pattern here.
Oh yeah, ALL the comments ... She is in a great spot because she will be one of the oldest on her team so likely bigger and faster. Statistically the kids in the oldest 1/3 of any age banding do better and get more playing time in athletics. My kid was part of the first switch from Aug cut off to birth year. She will adjust and be just fine.
Theres always one moron trying to give bad advise.
Seriously, that's been you for almost a year. Why do you care so much about forcing grade year on August kids but not the other months? Can you give any reason other than it helps your Sept daughter be the oldest?
What's incredibly frustrating about all this is you dont understand math. Everything you do is an agenda. If you did understand math you'd know that the correct matrix that includes grade is the same thing as what US Soccer provided. You dont like the grade matrix because you have an agenda to play older players down against younger ones. Putting everything together correctly in a single matrix blows appart your play down agenda.
There is no correct matrix other than to list the age ranges.
Yes that is exactly what someone would say and think if the didn't understand math.
Not everyone does, thus making it impractical. I could create a unique language exclusively for the age change and even list the definitions, but if it's too complicated, it's a failure. I'd say trying to use math to explain something that's not math is probably not a great idea.
I dont cater to dumb people. The correct matrix with grade is 100% the same as what US Soccer provided.
