Discrimination against Asians

It’s tough to come into a diverse area, be in turn anti-Black, anti-Hispanic, and anti-white, and still expect others to hold you in high regard. There’s just a level of extreme self-centeredness and indifference to everyone else that you don’t find in most places.

I've talked to vocal supporters of the anti-TJ movement who are off the charts in terms of self-centeredness, indifference to everyone else, unwelocoming demeanor, and overall contribution to social toxicity. Just saying.

True. I've also seen, in these vocal supporters, an unwillingness to listen TO actual black or hispanic opinions and massive enthusiasm to speak FOR them. Of course, there are also people like PP who first started by saying that all asians were evil, invalidated anti-asian discrimination, and now (maybe) has come around to saying that it's just the asians at TJ who are awful - the toxicity in that mindset is very revealing.

This must be the point where Asra Nomani and her buddies say "hold my beer."

I'm guessing that they're too busy worrying about the point when Brabrand tells schools to start cracking down on gifted students so that we don't have to listen to them complain.

Imagine praising crackdown on gifted students. Quite telling!

I'm PP - it was meant sarcastically, but since this is the Internet I guess Poe's Law applies.

TJ reform is long overdue. If that means some racist Asians have to accept a seat at the table for others, they can either accept it or be prepared to get called out for their prejudice. The change won’t stop in its tracks just because some right-wing ideologue has a meltdown.

When you take a group of the smartest people in the county, it shouldn't come as a surprise that they're able to pick up on the subtleties of the racial argument much more quickly than the general populace. Thus, if a group of people is unimpressed, it's somewhat off to confuse that with prejudice.

That constant back-patting has served you so well (especially when you dismiss the concerns of others as the musings of the "Woke Army"). Do keep it up.

The SJW community is long overdue reform. The way that they can wreak unchecked havoc on unprotected minorities and gifted students shows that we need to revise the system so that they don't have as much influence in the process. They can either accept it or be prepared to get called out for their prejudice. The change won't stop in its tracks just because some hypocritical ideologue has a meltdown.

It is not just Asians who are against dumbing down TJ, it is people of every race who are fighting for gifted education.

To the contrary the "SJW community" (read, those who long have had no voice) is just starting to express itself. How great that they now have some influence while it's crybabies like Asra Nomani and her pals who are now relegating to whining on forums like this and Twitter.

It is not just Asians who are against expanding access to TJ, it is people of every race who are fighting for segregated schools.

Fixed that for you.

I’m sorry - segregated schools? Are you the poster who thinks leaving Maggie Walked high school and Langley High school are just fine but TJ which is the only minority heavy school is the only problem?
