The knockout stages are the showcases. All this really amounts to is a competitive seeding format for the Spring Showcase which they defacto already did anyways. The open dates existed before and clubs used them to schedule games against other top clubs already. This just formalizes that and makes those games "meaningful" whereas before they were just glorified scrimmages. |
|
So..Nothing changes except the level of awesomeness and showcases were nothing but glorified scrimmages anyways.
Copy that hard charger. |
Oh, I don’t disagree with that at all. |
Oh, I know you dont. Your travel is probabley free. |
Oh, I think someone here said it better in this thread already: “But MOST parents of players at this level don't care from discussions I've had.” |
|
Tier 1 and Tier 2 are really easy to follow, see?

"Glorified scrimmages" is not quite accurate. Although showcases are somewhat diluted by the desire to give exposure to all players, these games do count in the standings and can be a factor in qualifying for the national championship. |
Really? DA Showcases already paired good teams vs good team and bad teams vs bad teams. However, the results didnt count. Now they count which goes against the purpose of "showcasing". Coaches are going for wins for the cup and also to avoid regulation. Remeber, regulation is based on club overall results and not team specific results. All teams will be expected to carry their weight. If you're a starter with a good DA club everything is fine. If you're a bench player on a good DA club expect to see more of the bench. If you're with a bad DA club expect less exposure and less meaningful competetion. You are the CCL2 of the DA world. Buckle up |
Colleges recruit players not teams. |
I know they do. However, good team get more attention. |
Because in theory they have more players to look at. But in many cases there may be 1-3 truly top end players that multiple schools are there to look at leaving the rest of the kids fighting for the same scraps as kids on other average teams. |
Good DA and ECNL teams have college coaches at their practices and league games. It's not what you think |
|
This was their stance from the beginning: "The Academy values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles.
Two years later....lol |
Don't worry, Loudoun can still claim that winning doesn't matter when they don't so you should be fine. |
Loudoun? I wouldn't touch that club with a 10 foot pole. Do better with your smart a$$ comments. I never preached "development of winning" I know the two can live together in harmony. The USSDA preached it as a pillar in which the league was built. The hypocrisy is real. The league was created under false pretenses. Most of you are flag carriers and dont realize that all the USSF wants is to be in on the billion dollar youth industry to fund their adult programs. They are putting out propaganda and you people are repeating it. |
