They dont operate at a loss. |
The DA piece operates at a loss and is subsidized by the NT revenue. It’s in the financial reports if you care to read them. |
Nothing the USSF does is at a loss. Silly! "You must believe everything you read on the internet" - Abraham Lincoln |

2018 expenses for YNT & Player Development was $27,352,300.
The expenses are not discreet for YNT and Development. Totals were $112,511,021 for 2018. I don't have the time to dig deeper, but anyone can find the info online. And of course, I may be reading these incorrectly. |
|
Sorry...the income was not discreet, lumped together.
Should read: 2018 expenses for YNT & Player Development was $27,352,300. Total expenses were $112,511,021 for 2018. |
It is the same internet that you are using. If you have evidence that points to the contrary simply post it. |
The YNT's dont generate money. They cost money. The DA generates money. However, not enough to cover the YNT expenses. Therefore, the line shows a negative. |
|
My point is this; The USSF doesnt operate the DA at a loss. They just increase revenue / cut expenditures somewhere else. They'll purposely structure "youth development" that way. Dont forget, there is FIFA grant money floating out there.
USSF and MLS is run by the Soccer United Management group. The last couple of USSF presidents were from SUM. USSF is not a parent group. They are a major operation. |

Ugh...it is Soccer United Marketing and they were chosen to overseeing the marketing, promotion and operational execution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer_United_Marketing USSF is a 501(c)(3) org with FIFA as their parent organization. USSF is commonly referred to as US Soccer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Soccer_Federation For the youth council: US Club, USYS, SAY, & AYSA is owned by USSF https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Youth_Soccer_Association The ECNL is an independent, non-profit, member-based 501(c)(3) organization, with an independent governance and leadership structure. The ECNL Board of Directors and staff solely governs all programs and platforms. The ECNL is sanctioned by US Club Soccer. |
"Ugh...it is Soccer United Marketing and they were chosen to overseeing the marketing, promotion and operational execution". And they run USSF and MLS. |

The CEO of SUM is the commissioner of the MLS
"U.S. Soccer, a non-profit organization, has a lucrative deal through 2022 with Soccer United Marketing, a for-profit company owned by Major League Soccer owners. Questions have been raised over whether the relationship between U.S. Soccer, SUM and MLS is too cozy and has conflicts of interest, while proponents of SUM argue that its work has been crucial in providing the nearly $150 million surplus that currently exists in the federation" |
| Yeah, i read the article before you did. |
