In her work with children and teens, Dr. Gottlieb has developed three main approaches that help children learn skills in order to take control of their anger. In this presentation, she will focus on these strategies, including practical hands-on approaches that you can practice with your child at home. The goal is to help children and teens learn to better manage feelings of anger, and develop greater emotion regulation more broadly. You will leave this presentation with new insight, understanding, and most importantly, strategies to help your child take charge of his or her anger and regain control of his or her behavior. This 4 hour workshop is a deep exploration of the physiology of the pelvis, the role of the pelvic floor muscles, and demystifying mula bandha. The first 2 hours of this workshop will be a deep dive into pelvic anatomy and physiology, exploring individually and through partner work how our bodies move in space as well as the inner workings of our physical and energetic bodies. Then we'll explore the power of mula bandha: exploring the stability of pelvic floor engagement in movement as well as the importance of releasing these muscles for restoration. Culminating this workshop in an hour-long practice exploring the application of all that we learned. Be prepared for lecture, movement, and working together with fellow participants. Each participant will be provided with worksheets and other materials; please bring a pen to write with. This workshop is eligible for Yoga Alliance CEUs. This workshop is led by Jess Gruber, who is currently pursuing her master's degree in clinical yoga therapy. Price: $60
