Please, why are you giving a "+" to your own post?

Okay, time for you to take a break. If you need five or more consecutive messages to make your point, you need to stop and get your thoughts together.
Please be polite when responding to nanny search posts.

This sort of response:

QUEEEEEEE? OMG. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS WOMAN LOOKING FOR A NANNY HOUSEKEEPING FOR $14 DOLLARES. OMG, OMG. MAYBE SHE IS A POOR WOMAN WHO WANT TRY TO LIVE LIKE A RICH AND IS POOR. OR MAYBE SHE WAHT ABUSE OF A NANNY.

Will discourage those wishing to hire nannies from posting on DCUM. As a result, you will not be able to use DCUM to find a job. If you are not interested in a job posting, please don't reply.
I don't really read this forum very much. So, use the "report" button to alert me to the posts in question and I'll follow up on them.
Please be polite when responding to nanny search posts.

This sort of response:

"THIS FAMILY NEED MAID, not loving NANNY !!!"

or this:

"And if you need nanny ONLY for 2 days: !90 $ per day !
G O O D L U C K !"

Will discourage those wishing to hire nannies from posting on DCUM. As a result, you will not be able to use DCUM to find a job. If you are not interested in a job posting, please don't reply.
Anonymous wrote:Whoah can we also call out the MB's posting jobs for $10/hr and 3 kids? That's not useful either and nannies will stop using the site to look for jobs. This should work both ways...

No, you cannot call them out because they are making a perfectly legal job offer. There may well be someone willing to take that job. If the only jobs advertised here are low paying, you are correct that nannies seeking high-paying jobs will go elsewhere. But, advertisements here are for a range of salaries. Nannies who want high-paying positions can -- and should -- ignore the low paying offers. Those willing to work for less can still respond to the lower-paying opportunities.

If you gave this a bit more thought, you would realize that getting rid of low-paying job offers would not decrease the number of job seekers willing to work for a lower wage than you. If there were no low-paying offers, everyone would compete for the high-paying offers. Instead of wasting your time reading an ad for a position that pays only $10 per hour, you would waste your time going to an interview and then being told someone willing to work for less has been hired.
Just as in the case of the original forums, there is no chance of me reading the vast majority of posts. I skim through the topics looking for ones that are posted in the wrong forums and read the occasional topic. But, I mostly learn of inappropriate posts when they are reported. If you feel that a poster is disrupting a thread, feel free to click on the "report" button and let me know. I may not agree that action is required, but I won't ignore the report either.

I found out about the two posters whom I called out when the original poster reported the thread and asked me to remove it because she no longer wanted to use DCUM for her nanny search. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known about those posts.
Katty:

I am sure that you want this website to be useful so that you and others like you can find jobs. However, when you post replies such as this:

Adriana I know you need the money but does not mean you have to take this offer, you can find a family with one baby, they will pay you no less the $15 for hour.... Plssss think about it. Don't let anybody take advance of us.

It causes posters such as the original poser of the threat to which you replied to get upset and stop using DCUM. When this happens enough, word gets around that DCUM is not a good place to find a nanny. That's bad for DCUM, but it is also bad for you since you won't be able to use DCUM to find a job.

If you see an advertisement that doesn't appeal to you, please just skip it. That will be best for everyone.

NOBODY going to work for YOU !

I am very pleased with how the new nanny forums have developed. In the old forum, almost every thread resulted in a fight of some sort. Threads here are much more civil. There has been much less sock puppetting and trolling and it is easier to detect. Previously, the nanny threads would get lost in the mix of regular DCUM threads. Now, I look at them separately and can detect trolls easier.

On the good side, in addition to the improved tone, is the success of the au pair forum. That's a brand new community for us. I should also add that the au pair forum was created by user request. It wasn't my idea.

The regional forums don't appear to be taking off. There also seems to be, or at least have been, a lot of confusion about them. Previously, I received lots of requests for forums for different regions. I was attempting to address that desire, but it has been interpreted at trying to keep nannies out of the main nanny forums. That is not the intention at all. Nevertheless, those forums aren't causing any problems, so I can simply ignore them for now.

On the bad side, the lack of a nanny forum in the main forum section means that parents are more likely to post nanny posts in the General Parenting Discussion forum. They should come here to post and I am constantly locking threads that were posted inappropriately in the other section.

Anonymous wrote:I agree with previous poster. Your rate is not that high for the hours worked. Usually that type of position, a nice bonus is common. I know with the agency I worked with, they said with every position there would be a end of year bonus- they of course didn't say how much. Did they give you a Hunnukah present?

Please don't sock puppet. When you sock puppet a thread that you created and gave a controversial title, it gives the impression that you are a troll.

And this is crazy dog employer:

Do we have an SuperNannyTroll or are these threads unrelated???

There doesn't seem to be a connection between the OP of this thread and either of the other two, or between the authors of the other two.
Anonymous wrote:I am a troll, but not a nanny you guys are just too hilariously highstrung not to mess with.

You've identified yourself as a nanny in other threads. So, I guess you were trolling those as well. I'll keep that in mind.

Anonymous wrote:Jeff? Is this a troll? Please tell me that Santa letter Mom, Feather turkey mom, crazy dog mom are the reincarnated Octotroll???? Far too many crazies lately on the nanny board. Even for the nanny board, it's too unbelievable.

The OP of this thread is not Octotroll, but is a nanny who is a bit of a trouble-maker. I don't know about the Feather turkey mom -- point out the thread to me and I'll look.
I am probably going to consolidate a few of the forums because the messages are spread pretty thin. That makes things look worse than they are.
