not the MB
the kids have a totally different relationship with the dad versus the mom. dad couldn't even fill out the form before school starts about his kid and was asking me! |
Well said. You speak for countless nannies far and wide. |
Um, no. Consistency is huge and critical. You start deviating greatly from that and the child is confused and behavior starts worsening and they start pushing boundaries as to what is allowed and what's not. And yes, makes the nanny's job much more difficult and later at school. This is basic child development 101. |
This poster is an excellent example of a nanny. Most parents tend to hire full-time incompetent babysitters who don't understand basic Childcare 101. These parents are clueless of the long-term consequences of their ignorance. It's heartbreaking. |
PP here (who started off with "um, no"). If you're referring to me, I'm the employer, not the nanny. Were you referring to me? |
| Nannies ate fools for agreeing g to do anything outside if childcare responsibilities. If your employer wants light housekeeping then she hires a maid. |
Some woman want to be the babysitter and the cleaning lady and the cook. The more she does, the more she behaves like a parent. |
wow, the drama! the suspense! are you gearing up for teeny bopper lit? |
Have you ever been a nanny or sitter? |
No but I am starting to think that your takeaway is unnecessary regidity and non negotiable routine, which is what I’m not saying. Nanny and parents are different people and how they handle things are different. But as far as permissiveness goes, the same rules apply (no screen time, enrichning activities, being outside and playing, etc). It’s not a lot to ask and deviations from these main things are not what I’m in favor of |

5 year old thread people. Are you really that entertained by pointless, angry, old debates?
