Parents are allowed to be hypocrites RSS feed

Well you see, when the nanny is taking care of the kids, she's working, but when the "parents" are (supposed to be) taking care of the kids, well they aren't working.

Plus, most parents just haven't developed the skills that professional nannies have, over their years and years of experience.

No. Not a nanny but 22:17 is spot on.

You do realize the post you're referencing is almost 16 months old, right? No one cares anymore.

+1
Nannies, You should stand up for your rights!

This is such crap that the only way parents can get a break if by putting kids in front of the tv. Ever heard of having kids play independently?

My sister is in school full time while her husband works. She comes home from school all day and plays with her two year old or let's hi play by himself while she gets ready from the day.

My MB comes from from a whole day of work and has the kids play independently while she changes and makes dinner.

When I was a kid my mom and dad were full time. When They got home they ever played with us or we played independently while they did something else. It is not that hard to have kids entertain themselves without the tv.

Now is it your right to relax the rules when you're home. Sure it is. But you should be honest with yourself that it is because you don't have the energy to be on 100% of the time, and you should be able to understand that neither does your nanny.

Maybe the parents don't have energy because they WORK ALL DAY?? Gee!!! They're allowed to relax the rules but it's your job as a nanny to do what they ask. You can relax when you get home.

Your children should be your most important work,
not that stack of papers at your office, don't you think?
After all,
only you can love your children the way you do.
You aren't the only one who can do that office job.

Yes, and because I love my children I take my duty to provide for them seriously. That's where the stack of papers comes in the picture. Because the roof over my family's head, food on the table, and college education are not free. I don't watch TV at work, why should nanny be able to do it on her job?

What do you want the nanny to do when she's taking a break?

This thread was resurrected merely to entertain the people who love to come on here and fight with each other.

Pretty funny.

Children need consistency and when the parent allows the child to revert to the lazy behavior of slobs like you, it simply makes a Nanny's job more difficult, if not impossible.

Sounds like the author just wants to make herself feel better for being a lazy parent.

didn't read the article but in my observation it is the DB who are always cutting corners and breaking the house rules regarding bedtime, junk food, screentime.
