How Long Have You Worked at Current Position: 4 YEARS
Hours Worked a Week: 15-20 (Worked full time for half this year)
Pay Per Week: $200-275
Bonus: $200
Supplemental Gifts: A generic card with just love the family written inside.

I'm beyond upset about this! Last year they gave me $300 and gifts. This year I went above and beyond a lot because the mom has been working long hours and I wanted to help make their life easier. After summer I finally had to get another nanny job because the mom was only working part time and I wasn't getting enough hours. She then had to get another nanny to cover the days I wasn't able to When I got my other job. I found out she pays the new nanny with no experience more than me and I've got 12 YEARS experience. They also got the new nanny a few gifts but I'm not sure about a cash bonus. I'm so very hurt and completely done going above and beyond. I was hired to do straight child care and that's all I'm doing now. And I'm going to tell them for next year I need a raise or I walk. It's been 4 years without even one raise and they always have some excuse why they can't afford one. But after this, I'm done if they don't get me a raise. I spent over$100 this year on their family and spent a bunch of that to get the parents a leather bound photo book of the kids from the pictures I've taken over the last year. I feel like I go above and beyond daily for them and went above and beyond with gifts and I feel very unappreciated! End rant!

Be prepared to leave because if they already have another nanny, your threat would matter and would probably be the fuel to let you go sooner so they only have to deal with one caregiver.

Do you know if the new nanny also does some housekeeping? That is odd that they would pay an inexperienced nanny more. Sorry, pp.

How Long Have You Worked at Current Position: 1.5 years
Hours Worked a Week: 35
Pay Per Week: $700
Bonus: $500
Supplemental Gifts: A beautiful card that made me cry, a DVD of my favorite TV show, and the promise of my regular salary while I'm recovering from major surgery for the next month (or maybe two).

I wasn't expecting any kind of cash bonus given their offer to pay me while I'm off recovering from surgery (which I had assumed WAS my bonus), they are just absolutely wonderful bosses, parents, and human beings. I'm extremely grateful.

MB here. We are in MoCo, our nanny has been with us for 5 months, her weekly pay is about $800. We gave her a scarf (one of those infinity things) and $250.
