Compared with the ISYN poll, this is a very low number of responses. I don't think it is being taken seriously given how many DCUMers there are. |
Its still early. I'm sure a lot of people will get theirs tomorrow, and more next week. |

Location: DC How Long Have You Worked at Current Position: 9 months Hours Worked a Week: 40 Pay Per Week: $750 Bonus: $850 Supplemental Gifts: Pictures of the kids, something awesome for my kitchen I literally couldn't believe it. I'm one of the nannies who has never before gotten a bonus, and I'm just so grateful for this job and my wonderful bosses. I hope to work for them for many years to come! |
That's awful I'd be very upset and hurt. Did they do this last Christmas too?
|
No, last Christmas I got a beautiful message in a card and a small check. I know they like me as their nanny, I just really don't know what their thought process was/is behind no gift or sentiment at all. They loved the gift I got them from their children, which makes me feel even worse inside. That I remembered them, but it wasn't reciprocated. |

Nanny share: Family A 1.5 years, Family B 1year 53hours family A, 45hours family B $970 weekly Bonus/gifts: family A- $200 apple gift card, $200 cash and a candle. Family B- $500, candle, ornament, a gift card to my favorite brunch place Very thoughtful gifts, I broke my iPad screen and the gift card was to fix it or to use with the extra cash to buy a new one. Very blessed. |
Maybe they were going to give you something closer to Christmas? |
This. Unless you're finished until after the holidays, I don't know how you can be positive you aren't getting anything. |
I'm off until after the new year. I'm going to have to just let it go. I didn't even get so much as a Happy holidays from my MB when I walked out the door tonight. |

I can relate to the pp who's family didn't give them anything. Last year I left with armfuls of gifts and a nice fat bonus.
I KNOW I have gone above and beyond. And in happy to do so to make their lives easier!! But it makes the little things that go in recognized feel also unnoticed and unapreciated! I stay late about 5 times a month on 2 or less hours notice. I orginize the kids clothes every season and as they grow. I bake I put laundry away, I worked 20 hours of overtime when MBs mom died with a weeks notice. I feel like I've given my heart and was only given back a bag of lotion and a picture of the kids. No bonus or even a card. I came with a tote bag full of gifts for the kids and parents |

How Long Have You Worked at Current Position: 1 year in January Hours Worked a Week: 40, plus 10-15 hours/month unpaid to compensate for how much paid vacation I get (12 weeks in the past year) Pay Per Week: $440 net Bonus: nothing Supplemental Gifts: A cute wristlet that MB knew I liked (she has the same one) and a pair of slippers Not going to lie, I'm disappointed. I love the gift and appreciate the sentiment, but I am not paid very much and go above and beyond for this family on a consistent basis. I just finished my last day before the holidays and given that I stayed an extra 2 unpaid hours (with 1 hours notice) I am feeling a bit extra upset. |
