Curious, why did the Dr predict he would be small? Was he always small? Did he have a growth spurt earlier on? When was it? |
My DD is almost 10, in 4th and wears a 2.5. She is petite. |
My 9-year old son wears a 7.5. He comes by it honestly: I (mom) wear an 11. Everyone says he'll be really tall (and he is now tall), but everyone said that about me and I am 5'6", so it isn't a given.

5'6" is tallish for a woman, no? 5'4" is average. |
Age 10. Men's size 8 |
DS is 9.75 and wears a 3.5. Some of his friends have tremendous feet! I have big feet (10.5 women's) but DH's feet are pretty average (10.5 men's). Even the 9 yo girl next door is wearing a womens' 6.
My youngest is 5 and wears his brother's hand me down shoes on occasion. Younger son is wearing shoes at 5 that his older brother wore at 6/6.5. I've told myself that the clothes shrunk over the years, but can't do that with the shoes! |
DD is 8, will be 9 at the end of December, and she wears a women's size 8. Yes, she is tall.
DH is 6'7" and wears a men's size 13 1/2. I am 5'5" and I wear a women's size 9.5. Large feet are the norm in my side of the family. |
My fourth grade son wears a size six but they're getting tight. He just turned 10. |
He had a heart defect and they said he would probably be small and have a hard time growing (I can't remember how they worded it, this was when he was a baby). He was a small baby, but he ended up being in the 50th percentile for height and now he's in the 75th I believe. I'm not sure when the growth spurt was, I'd have to go back and look. All I know is that the dr was always surprised by how much he's grown. |
Not pp you responded to, but I'd say 5'6" isn't really that tall. It's not short, but it's not tall. I'm 5'4" and the shortest woman in my family besides for me is 5'7". So when I'm with my family, if pp was there, she wouldn't look very tall at all ![]() |
Np here. My 6 yo DD wears a size 4! |
You know feet don't always correlate with height. I'm 5'1" and wear an 11. I was always short with big feet. So are my children. |
Age 10.5 boy, men's 7.
I will be wearing his hand me downs! |
DD is on the taller side but wears a 2.5/3 shoe. I wear a 7 and DH wears a 9, so I think she'll always smaller feet. She wears a 10 in girls clothing typically. |
Why are so many posts fixated that larger shoe sizes means taller? My daughter wears a size 7 women's shoes at age 11 and is short- like her mother and father (she looks like she's 2 grades younger).
No evidence.. just buy larger shoes.. https://www.healthtap.com/topics/predict-height-by-shoe-size |
