Woah! My girl is 4'3 and her shoe size is 2. |
Did we really need to revive a 7 year old thread for this? Haha. |
How did you find this thread from 7 years ago? |
I could not believe it either; I have 4th grader twin boys. Just got new shoes. One now needs a size 6, the other size 7. |
One wore a 3 in girls and the other wore a 2.
The one who wore a 2 has stopped growing and is a 6.5 in women’s at 14.5. Her sister is 11 and now wears size 6. My guess is she will be a size bigger than her sister but it’s just a wild guess. My observation is that feet are the first big growth at the start of puberty, and the first to stop growing. Known many 4th/5th graders with adult size feet that stopped growing in early middle school. |
Similar stats here! 4'2 and size 2. |
Wow, my 4th grade girl must have tiny feet at 1.5. I found this post interesting. |
Wow. I'm 5'8 guy and wear that size |
My rising 5th grade daughter wears a size 1. I also found it interesting. Her feet seem to be far, far outside of the norm. |
I only have girls but I’ve never needed to replace their shoes more than once per year. Now they are teens and (likely) done growing their feet. One is a size smaller than I am and one is my size. |
A shoe size a year sounds about right, OP! I end up buying my daughters new shoes three times a year (beginning of the school year, January, beginning of summer). Thanks for the reminder that I need to buy them new shoes for school! |
My rising 5th grade girls has a size 5.5 |
I’m 5’9 and wear 11s and I empathize with the PP from seven years ago with the size 12 feet— it not only limits your shoe choices but when shoe choices are so limited it also limits what sort of pants and dresses etc. you can wear since you only have about four pair of shoes!
Just for the foot-size/height people: My first cousin, once-removed, is 5’10-5’11 and she wears just 7-7.5. She’s 80 years old— I think feet were smaller back then. Anecdotally, I’ve known some tall people with proportionally smaller feet, but not any short people with big feet. That’s just my own little world experience. |
Men’s size 7 |
I’m hoping my daughter won’t go past size 9 for feet! I’m a size 11 in tennis shoes. Having big feet as an adult woman sucks. Size 7s are so cute! |
