I'm surprised at how often we need to buy shoes for my son. His feet are growing constantly. Last year he was wearing 3 or 4, and now he's wearing 5 or 6. Shoes for his growing feet are expensive! |
women size 8.5 |

Who knows! I am short but DH is tall. She is about 5'2 now. |
he is a kids size 6. |
Same with my DD. Her feet are bigger than mine. I really hope they've stopped growing! |
In 4th grade my son grew into size 4. |
3.5 right now. |
Come on, you know that a 5'2" fourth grade is extremely tall ![]() |
Op here. Yeah this is my sons size. One pair is size 5 & one is size 6. But I believe size 6 is the first size of men's shoes. |
Does shoe size have anything to do with height? My mom wears 8.5 or 9 and she's 5'7". I'm size 7 shoes and 5'4". |
And I agree that his foot grew substantially over the summer. His spring sneakers were a 4, as were his summer Keens. In September he was a 6. |
Try asking by age. My 4th grader is 9. He has classmates who are 11. Grade may not be the best estimate for foot size. |
well that is true. I posted earlier that my 10 yr old is a 3.5/4. But, he is a young 10 (summer baby so just turned 10). Most of his classmates will turn 11 in the next few months. |
My 10yr old 5th grader wears a men's 6.5xxw or a women's 8.5. The hard part is that many stores don't carry that size in either the kids dept or the men's department. We end up ordering most of his shoes. He has to wear all black sneakers for school and for now that is what he wears to church as well. When you order from the men's department you are paying higher prices. FWIW, the doctor is predicting he will be 6'-4" tall so he will grow in to the big feet.
When my dd was that age she was also in a women's 8.5. She is now 13 and hasn't grown anymore. I hope she is done. I wear a women's size 12 and it is horrible finding shoes. Nothing looks cute in a size 12. |
