If the Dems take the House and the Rs keep the Senate what will it mean for legislation? I too don't think Trump is going anywhere till at least 2020, but what will he be able to do if this scenario occurs?

I mentioned my independent status because I am a registered independent who doesn't identify strongly with either party; although, each party has values I share. I didn't want Hilary Clinton or Trump as president, but I voted for Clinton as she was the candidate who was qualified. I am pro life, but I want people executed for child molestation and rape. I am pro 2nd ammendment, but I want tougher restrictions on assault weapons. Black lives matter (we shouldn't have to say that!) and all Americans are entitled to equal civil rights including gay and transgendered people. I do not want a wall built, and I think Trump is screwing over the DACA people. I want Trump to resign because I believe he is openly a white nationalist, a racist and a misogynist and therefore has no business "representing America". What hot button issue did I miss?
Why does any of that matter to me. Just state your opinion on an issue and move on. None of what you make up on the fly makes your opinion any more valid, anonymous.
He should resign. He won't, though.

If Dems win the house in huge number and win a majority in the Senate it won't be difficult to get Republican votes because Rumpus base will be irrelevant.

There is what you know and what you can prove. Two totally different things.
Unlike Trump, Pence is quiet and methodical. He doesn’t have diarrhea of the mouth or of the tweeting fingers. He doesn’t”t go on national TV and brag about obstructing Justice. Given his connection to Manafort, I am almost certain he is dirty. I also think it will be very difficult to prove at a high enough standard to impeach.
Plus, Trump,was the head of the campaign, made many of the strategic decisions and accepted donations made to him. It will be harder to prove Pence is dirty, because he is the number 2. And in a campaign where Trump made almost allthe decisions, it will be hard to find an instance where Pence affirmatively acted to help Russia. And he has stayed away from controversy since taking office.
I don’t think he can be re-elected. His values may be sincerely held, but they are way out of the mainstream for anyone except evangelicals. But, I also don’t think it’s realistic to think he would be impeached.

I can’t stand the guy and didn’t vote for him, but I’ve said on previous threads, and will say again, that I expect he’ll finish out his term. I think he’s got all the makings of a tinpot dictator, which doesn’t jive with voluntary resignation or cooperation with the legal system, and somehow those guys rarely bite the dust early, regardless of lifestyle. I have serious doubts he could win a second term and also believe he doesn’t really want to.
