There are ballet flats - and then there are ballet flats. I've seen the cheap and ill-fitting as well as the really good that is chic and fits like a dream. Go look at the entire Chanel collection for inspiration to see what a great flat should look like. Or Marc Jacobs. Then, check out a store with good quality shoes and find that perfect flat. They are very chic if done the right way.
As for yoga pants, I would wear a colorful trainer. |
I like the way ballet flats look with jeans, but I'm not going to be wearing them in the winter...don't they look best with no socks? It's too cold in the winter for that. |
I personally hate that look- dubious on how it's the only way you can run after your kids.. my kids wear jeans etc. and have no issues running etc.. I don't think it's the material.. I know I can run and bend in most any pants.. Next thing you know we'll all be wearing slippers since they are more comfy than sneakers.. to each their own. |
Agreed... That's how the Crocs nightmare began... This is the second time today a post on this forum has inspired me to think of Homer Simpson and his mumu. (The first was the husband/ jeans thread.) |
I like the ballet flats, but I am vertically challenged, so I wear a funky pair of boots or winter pumps/heels with my jeans to give me some height. I wear Nikes with my yoga pants to work. I wear both jeans and yoga pants to the park...it depends on the weather and what's clean.
I can run in both, but running feels better in yoga pants. I have gotten some dirty looks when I wear yoga pants to the park, which is weird IMO, but I don't care enough to stop wearing them. I just smile and go on about my business. |
I'd just like to thank the poster or posters who recommended the Lands End pants - I ordered them and they fit really well and are comfortable.
I don't mind the look of ballet flats, but they just don't work for me. I just prefer a bit more shoe when I'm out and about. |
