Those black semi-tight yoga(?) pants that moms at the playground wear

I've never worn either brand. But I did read the reviews for each, and noticed that the Gap reviews all talked about wearing them for gym activities, whereas the Lucy reviews talk about wearing them for everyday activities. And when I look at them, the Lucy ones seem much more modest in the crotch/bum area--I think I would wear them to the park, whereas the Gap ones are too immodest for me.

I usually consider Lands' End's women's clothes to be too dorky for anyone under the age of 65, but I love the workout pants and shorts I've gotten there. The fabric is thick enough to hide lumps, bumps and panty lines. They come in petite. They wash well (no pilling, no fading). And they don't get stinky. I wear the pants walking the dog, walking alongside DD on her bicycle, etc.

Pricier than the Gap, not as expensive as some others.

OP here...
Thanks for all the helpful links and replies. I'm tall and am a life long runner so I hope my legs and butt fit the style.

Another question...
Do I need to wear a tong? If I wore regular undies, would the underwear line show? If so, is that a fashion no-no?

Sorry, I didn't mean to be mean. Personally I think most women look better in something more structured, like jeans, but apparently I'm in the minority here. Good luck with the pants.

I 2nd the Land's End nomination! I have Lucy and Land's End, and almost always wear the Lands End. Very nice weight fabric, does not fade or shrink with regular washing. Very flattering. The Lucy ones are nice, too, but a bit lighter fabric.

I'm in year 3 of my Lucy pants with no fading or pilling - I wear regular underwear under them. Also wore them all throughout my pregnancies and lived in them while recovering from a c-section.

Saw SO many nice ones at Nordstrom Rocks, I wish I got one but I was already in line to pay.

For the OP, Lululemon has pants both in regular length and tall for many of their styles. They will also hem them for free! I love their stuff (many of the jackets have little thumb holes so you can keep your hands warm)!

I wear their running clothes for running and the yoga pants and jackets for running around on the weekends.

I was wondering the same thing! Anyone?

I always wear a thong with these types of pants. I hate the visible panty line, though I am not sure whether it qualifies as a fashion "no-no".

Thong is best. Hanky Panky is a really good brand. They are made out of super stretchy lace that is wide on the sides so they don't dig in. They are pricey, though.

Am I th eonly one who geos commando? I don't wear underwear under yoga pants. On the rare occasion that I do, it's a thong.

Victoria's Secret cotton v-string- once you get used to it you can't beat it.

What's the point of going for comfy yoga pants if you ruin it by wearing a thong? I buy panties with reducing VPL in mind.

Commando here. I hate wearing undewear of anykind if I don't have to (i.e. a skirt or dress). Yoga pants-- no way.
