Those black semi-tight yoga(?) pants that moms at the playground wear

Yes, absolutely!

I agree with the posters that nice jeans would look better, but with 2 under 2, time is at a premium. So the time saved to pee wearing yoga pants is valuable at this point!

why do you care what someone else wears?

Wow. I'm a big "limit your motions to maximize efficiency" nut, but this is impressive!

LOL! I'm sure you're joking... if not, consider eeking out even more time savings by wearing a Poise pad. Don't even have to stop to pee then...

Buy some premium denim jeans that fit you well and a cute pair of ballet flats and wear that to the playground. You will look WAY better than the moms in yoga pants.

Yes, and you can even get Jcrew, Old Navy or Gap jeans (sounds like OP is slim) that will look great with ballet flats-- totally agree.

I love my jeans, but there are times when yoga pants are more appropriate. Yoga pants are way more comfortable if you are actually (gasp) playing with your child at the playground or alongside their bicycle, etc. If you are grocery shopping, dropping your kid off at school, sitting on the bench at the playground to which you drove, wear jeans. If you are going to be active, wear the yoga pants with pride! And you can't have given up on your figure and look good in yoga pants; even the best pants can't totally hide a flabby bum and thighs.

As for why wear a vest.... sometimes a full sweater or jacket is too warm. A vest gives warmth to the core, yet not too much. IMHO, a vest is WAY better than a hoodie, which I think of as juvenile at best. But that's just me.

I think we need to cut each other a little bit of slack!

are you people for real? are you all really going to playgrounds and assessing what the other moms are wearing? my favorite line is this:
Buy some premium denim jeans that fit you well and a cute pair of ballet flats and wear that to the playground.

Thanks for the laugh. I'll be thinking of you as I rub the spit up into my yoga pants at the playground.

I look damn good in my yoga pants and my denim pants. I will continue to wear whatever the hell feels good and looks good on me, and really don't care what the denim-ballet flat clones think.

I don't care what other women wear to the playground, but me - I think jeans are great for playing with kids. Jeans are more durable, and more able to take that sudden tackle from my 3-year old. If you can't play in your jeans, you are wearing them way too tight

I got some at Sears earlier this week for $23! The in-store sale is much better than the online sale.
