Those black semi-tight yoga(?) pants that moms at the playground wear

I 3rd the Lands' End suggestion.
I generally hate Lands' End, but this one is a real winner.

Ugh. I refuse to do g strings or thongs or commando. I need my granny panties. You can hate on me if you wish.

I was shopping for thongs the other day, to wear under my yoga pants and a woman nearby gave me the dirtiest look. She said loudly to her daughter, "Ew, I can't understand how anyone can wear those things," as she proceeded to look for her granny panties.

I'm a Lucy girl (Hatha Yoga pants in "short" really fit me well), but I'd love to try the Lands End. Are the "Colorblock Performance Pants" the ones to try? If so, if I'm short in Lucy, should I go with Petite in Lands End?

Thanks!!

Thanks for the info about the lands end pants. I was in the market for a pair of this type of pants as well.

Here's an interesting article, BTW, on lululemon. This thread made me think of it since the author begins by talking about how ubiquitous their Groove pants are:

I have a Nike pair of yoga pants that I got at an outlet. I loved them so much that I called them up and had them send me two more pairs! I love lululemon and lucy but their stuff is sooo expensive. I just can't justify $90 for yoga pants. But I absolutely love the lucy everday pants that someone posted on here.

Target has them.

I'm the PP who recommended hanky panky. I also was extremely anti-thong until I discovered the Hanky Panky. It really is comfortable. I promise you will be shocked. I originally got them for exercise wear, but found them so comfortable that I wear them most days now.

And a thought about Target's pants. They are thin and also wear and fade quickly. If you are wearing and washing regularly, they won't lat more than 3 months before they start looking really bad. Might as well pay a bit more for pants that will last several years like Lululemon (ok, a lot more but they do last years so you come out ahead).

OP, if you're trying to update your look, not sure I think starting with Yoga pants is a good idea. Even "nice" yoga pants scream mom-who-has-given-up to me. Buy some premium denim jeans that fit you well and a cute pair of ballet flats and wear that to the playground. You will look WAY better than the moms in yoga pants.

I have the Lucy ones and they are great. I also wear hanky panky thongs under them. In fact, I wear Hanky Panky all the time because they are so comfortable. I buy mine at Nordstroms because you can sometimes find them on the sale rack or they are always put on sale during the fall annual sale held in July.

I get coupons from Lucy all the time. I think you just have to sign up for their emails/mailings.

I just found a picture of the Hanky Panky thong.

What makes them so much more comfortable?

I totally agree on the hanky pankies - they are awesome. So comfortable!

I am pretty schlubby (jeans, pumas) but I have to say I'm not a fan of the yoga pants, long sleeve shirt, and vest. Ditch the vest! Why is everyone wearing these things? When you go to Lululemon get a cute hoodie or something.

Please forgive me for being completely clueless, but what is different about the yoga pants from other pants that fit up top and that flare at the leg - am I maybe not looking at the pictures correctly? Am I missing sth??

I have been reading this whole thread and can't keep quiet anymore - I completely agree with this poster:

Jeans, even if they are not "premium" but new and updated and fit you well - Gap, Old Navy, J. Crew are just fine - are a HUGE upgrade from yoga pants, which should be worn for, you know, yoga.
