Cosby found guilty

Damn, what a tragedy. The man just needed a little strange!

I have to say that I understand the poster above that is conflicted about how to feel. He did actually do a lot of philanthropic work that helped a lot of people. So, it is hard to square that with his private criminal behavior.

I used to love his old comedy routines, in addition to the old cosby show episodes. I can't watch/listen to those anymore, either.

It remains upsetting to find out what a sleaze he actually was/is to women.

Yea, no. She has defended and vilified his accusers for years. She’s a POS.

I'm guessing she wasn't a part of any of this. The side she saw of him was not the same man that his accusers saw.

She didn’t have to be a rapist to be a part of this. Where there is smoke there is fire. And there was YEARS of fire around Cosby. She is no different than Dottie Sandusky. But keep burying your head in the sand and defending her.

I honestly have no idea what "smoke" that woman saw. She was probably heavily in denial or thought that what was happening was a consensual thing and she didn't want to know about it.

I would be stunned if she thought he was drugging and raping unsuspecting women. No way. Not Bill Cosby. I remember when those accusations first came out they seemed so far fetched. I just knew that he would be exonerated. I grew up watching Bill Cosby, he was like the perfect all American dad and husband.

Obviously he had a hidden, private side to himself that he did not want to share with his fans, his friends, his colleagues, his kids and, yes, his wife. You might be too young to remember that Cosby was a charismatic, likable and very well loved guy. For this nightmarish stuff to pop up in his older years was just a shock to everyone. He was the last person in the world you would think would do something like that.

Not sad because of the guilty verdict. He clearly deserves it. I am certain he will serve time. There is no way he won’t with the charges. I feel deeply for his victims. They deserve justice.

It is sad because he was such an icon - the wonderful father on the Cosby show... the jello guy.... someone who spoke hard truths to the black community. And, the death of his son, which was tragic. It is sad because I feel duped by his onscreen persona.

Thank you for putting into words how many of us feel. His actions are horrifying but there is a real sense of loss of someone we thought of as "America's Dad."

You f'king idiots. He was an ACTOR. He was paid do "pretend". TV is NOT real!!

He was listed as one of the top black philanthropists several years ago. He has given millions to historically black colleges and donated to a multitude of other charities.
This in no way makes up for his crimes, but you need to understand why so many people are struggling with his conviction.
He did some absolutely horrible things. And now that these things are out in the open, it is upsetting to try to understand how a man who seems so giving could be so evil.

This!!!!!

Cosby is obviously a sick man. I still can’t believe it.

$50 he is dead in 2 years.

He is legally blind from diabetes. Ten to one he dies within six months.

I didn't follow the trial. What evidence did they have? Without DNA or video evidence, on what did they convict?

There are many more worthy and clear cut cases of abuse and harassment, just not ones as sure to make headlines. I think the questionable character of his accusers (Janice Dickinson, et. al) will make it harder for honest victims to get justice. I also think there have been questionable decisions from the bench that will result in the verdict being overthrown on appeal.

What are you talking about? He drugged and raped unwilling women. 62 of them.

At his age I can't believe he didn't flee the country to some non extradition country or island.

The testimony of the victim and five other victims (to establish MO). I don't know what else they had, but the jury found it persuasive, despite the defense's best efforts to smear all of the victims.

A lot of the stars did that in the 70s. They dated kids too (teens) and everyone lauded them for it.

I'm sure she was in denial. But what Cosby was doing was an open secret. Remember Hannibal Burress? He had a bit in his comic routine, about how "Bill Cosby has no real right to tell black people how to behave—to pull up their pants and so forth—because "you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches." The shock of the line would always get a laugh, and in case anyone thought he was just joking, he would double down: "When you leave here, Google ‘Bill Cosby rape.’ That shit has more results than ‘Hannibal Buress.’ "

Are you listening to yourself?! I hope you are not a woman with children.

There were 62 women that came forward who were assulted by him. 62. With his image, maybe the first 1-10 could have been written off as women scorned by affairs. But not 62. He was previously investigated in this PA case and had admitted before to giving women qualaudes.

And no, I’m not to young to remember the public image he crafted. And thankfully I wasn’t stupid and put my head in the sand and pretended that he must be innocent.

The man is a rapist. And you and Camille are disgusting rape apologists.
